Description of 1960 Triumph TR3

Welcome to TRBUYER's Auctions!
1960 Triumph TR3A $100 Starting Bid NO RESERVE!!!

VIDEO OF CAR BELOW!!!

I just purchased this from a gentleman who bought it from his father-in-law 32 years ago. The car was a running, driving car when he got it, and extremely solid with no rust in the sills, floors, spare tire well, or even the rear box sections of the lower valence which are always gone. The car had plenty of scrapes and scratches and dings and also had an accident on the rear of the left front fender and on the front of the left door. This minor accident, which did no internal or frame damage rather just sheet metal, was extremely poorly repaired many years ago. This gentleman had intended to do a full restoration on the car since it was so solid, and started off by having the engine rebuilt which truly has zero miles on it since rebuild. This is the only thing he did during his ownership of the car. Due to a loss of storage space, he was forced to sell the car before any further restoration was completed and that was when we purchased it. We decided to do the following:

• Clean the gas tank
• Replace fuel lines
• Dis-assemble and clean and freshen carbs
• Test and clean radiator
• Replace radiator and heater hoses
• Clean and test fuel pump
• Replaced both clutch and brake master cylinders
• Honed bushings in pedal assemblies and painted
• Rebuilt front calipers with new pads
• Replaced front brake hoses
• Replaced rear brake hose
• Replaced both rear wheel cylinders
• Installed brand new top
• Installed new carpet set
• Installed new battery
• Got running and tuned
• Installed another windshield glass and new rubber in windshield frame

After completing the above, the car now starts on its own with excellent oil pressure, no noises, and no smoking. The car runs extraordinarily well. It now drives up and down the road under its own power with good brakes and clutch hydraulics, and most items operating.
This is a car for restoration or fun with a lot already done to it. There are many systems on this car that are still almost 60 years old, so we do not want to misrepresent the car, as there are still things to be done such as suspension rebuild, old tires, and certainly I would assumea body and paint overhaul.
As a Triumph restoration shop we restore many TR3s, and we are very much aware of how they literally disintegrate with rust. This car impressed me from how solid it is, to how incredibly nice the front apron is. It also has very nice correct leather seats, loop carpets, and a proper nice fitting top. Even the chrome on the windshield frame is very nice. You won’t find a cheaper TR3 that truly is an easy restoration candidate as this one. The mileage showing on the car (18,431, NA) is not actual and true mileage is unknown. Priced with a starting bid of $100 with NO RESERVE! Now is your chance to tell me what you think it is worth. This car is running and driving and stopping, but will need further tweaking to get to an everyday driver status, and is sold as is, without warranty whatsoever. We are a licensed Virginia dealer for the past 18 years, and a very well-known restoration shop with multiple national awards for our work. Please visit our website for further information on this car, and more information about us and our services. Good luck and happy bidding!
