Description of 1974 Triumph TR-6

1974 TRIUMPH TR-6
38,000 miles

Great little car for somebody. We'd love to keep this car and finish it ourselves but we decided to go with a GTO instead. This is a solid car with a good frame, good suspension, runs good, several new parts, extra parts and more. It runs strong and shifts good too.6 cylinder w/ dual carbs and 4 speed transmission. It will need some tinkering mechanically I'm sure simply due to age and it has been sitting aroundfor a while. Stored inside and has a nice dry solid body, floors and frame. Dark green exterior with black interior. Appears that it was originally a paleyellow incolorwhen it was new. I don't see any rust. If I had to pick one spot, the passenger floor has a very small spot (smaller than a dime) way upfront that actually looks more like afactory stamping hole but I don't know. The entire area is solid and strong still.
This car will need restoration and finishing. Everything is still with the car and its a complete car. Some trim and the bumpers were removed tobegin the restoration but still included with the car. We juststumbled across an unexpectedamazing great deal on afinished show car GTO thatI always wanted,so sadlywe don't need this TR6 now. The car was registered and on the road not too long ago.
This is a really good restoration starting point. It's solid, all there, plus it runs and drives too. Seat materials are cracked, the top is ok but should be replaced. It has some small cracks/rips in spots but works (up & down) ok still. The boot is in good shape and included too. Dash and gauges are in good shape. Gauges are still all there and seem to work ok. The trunk is solid and in good shape. No radio and no carpet. I do have all of the trunk lining and its in good shape still. Door panels are good too. The trunk lid, doors and hood line up nicelyand close/open solid tight. The windshield is cracked but replacements show only $90-$130 in my Triumphcatalog.Lights front to back are in good shape plus brand new ones are included in wrapping still. The door glass is good and crank up/down ok. Wheels and tires are in great shape with centers and stainless trim rings in good shape. There are 2 extra tires and wheels included. Brakes are weak and shouldbe looked over. There are some new brake parts that are in place from the previous owner. The hood paint was stripped a while back and will need some primer. It's bare metal right now. You'll notice a lighter color green as touchup spots. This was done over some spots that were sanded and had thin paint or bare metal showing through. We wanted to protect it with a quick covering and just didn't get to the hood yet.
The odometer shows 38,000 miles. The previous owner felt that was correct mileage. Great little car for somebody and a great restoration project. I have severalmagazines, catalogs and other publications included with the car. There is a Hayes manual included as well.Somebody will be very proud to own this car as we are.Clean and clear title. Low mileage and solid.Lots of extras included. Great car for somebody.
