Details:1980 VW Rabbit Pick up truck - known as " Caddy "Rolling Shell - missing moto, ransmissio, hifter assembl, ll the wiring from the seats forward was removed as it was hacked / stolen - including fuse box. Dash has beenremoved but it is include, ut it in really bad shape with cracks onthe top of it. Missing the passenger side glue style window - it feel out - All other glass is in great condition. Window regulators are still in the doors - missing the actual window cranks. Tan door panels with holes cut for speakers are still there because ihaven't removed them to throw them away yet.
I was going to TDI swap this truck - I have a complete donor AHU / 1Z 1.9 Turbo diesel engine / wirin, tc - it is NOT INCLUDED with this auction. But that is why i removed the original 1.6 gas motor and automatic transmission - Also removed the gas tank and fuel lines from gas tank up to the engine bay - i do still have these and they ARE INCLUDED - will be in the bed of the truck.
Body:Very clean from Pacific Northwest - its is so nice -which is why i paid so much money for it in the first place and wanted to TDI swap it. has some awesome tie towns and chrome trim. Tailgate is functional and in great 35 year old condition. The truck does not have any visible RUST / ROT - has some great 35 year old PATIN, o major dents. Only body issue is the original early westy core support was painted BLACK byprevious owner - it will come off with some paint thinner - and the original Mountain Green paint is still under it.. Tow truck driver attached a tow hook to the lower part of the core support and tweaked it slightly ( the lower front core support ) - The rockers and floor pans are very clean with no major or minor for that matter - damage. Forgot to mentio, he hood has some weird hood pins received in the hood ( see picture ) there are holes inthe rain tray but no PINS - previous owner handy work once again..... i do happen to have a NOS ( new old stock factory ) hood - but it can be purchases separately it is NOT Included inthe sale of the shell.
The rear axlehas been " axle flipped " to lower the back of the truck.The front original coil springs have been " CUT " by the previous owner to lower the front.
The hood has some stencil painted on it ( see pictures ) and the rear of the truck has a stencil of a " PAW " painted on it also. ( not by M, revious owner )
There are NO BUMPERS - it did not come with any - as they are not pictured.
I am going to include a set of Mk1 Scirocco PLAID front SEATS. ( see picture ) The Original Dash is also included ( its been removed )I amgoing to include a manual pedal cluster ( not sure if i can fit it in the picture, am pretty sure i removed the automatic pedal cluster )
As i mentioned before - i have TONS of parts - that were meant to go on this truck that will be for saleseparately. I do NOT want to list these parts as i do not want there to be confusion as to what parts are comingwith the truck.. I have a SHOP full of engine, ransmission, irin, uspensio, tc.... enough parts to putthe truck back on the ROAD.
To recap - i amgoing to list what i recall being REMOVED fromthe truck and NOT INCLUDED:
No engin, ransmissio, hifter assembl, edal cluste, arpe, eat, eat belt, as, enter consol, issing passenger vent window, o bumper, peedomete, auges, o gril, o wiring from seats forward ( the factory rear harness for gas tan, ail lights is still ther, ust all das, ngine bay wiring has been removed) Headlight is missing as picture, probably have another one laying around but to be safe, nbsp;just the driver side headlight is included. The truck does NOT have a key for ignition previous owner could not find it nor a key for the door handle, hesteering column does NOT lock. ( i have a complete matching lock set from a cabrioletwhich will be INCLUDED just not INSTALLED ) Emergency brake handle is also missing ( i think i removed as well )
I am asking $2500 for this Awesome American built Westy Truck. As a rolling shell - it will push easily onto a trailer. Buyerresponsible for paying for pick up - truck can only be picked up once full payment has been received and cleared. $500 depositthrough paypal - rest is due in CASH on pick up - or if you plan to use paypal there will be " fee " to cover fee's in incur from accepting electronic payment.
