This is a wonderful and rare Green on Green original Westfalia desperate for your Love!The Bus starts right up and runs and drives very well. It has been kept in a driver condition and with many small efforts will be a perfect Campmobile!This Bus is perfect for the person who wants to go through a Bus rebuilding all of the little things one by one, hile enjoying it.Lots of things just plain need attention. For example, he interior cabinet needs to be taken out and rebuilt. While you are at it, ook up an electric water pump and add a power inverter and accessories. The pop-top seal has separated where the pop-top meets the roof at the back left and needs to be glued. The jalousie windows need new plastic knobs, asily available, nd to be oiled. The front seats would benefit in a big way from just a pair of slip on covers, r better yet, hat would really improve the Bus, et the original green plaid covers and do it right! This is a greatly optioned Bus, great year, nd rust free! The front floors are original paint and just look at the photos!!Having lived it's whole life in the Arizona desert, t is extremely rust free. The Bus has recently had it's engine rebuilt and the injection system worked on, o the big stuff here is done! The brakes have recently been checked over as well as the steering. The Bus does need the steering drag link to be near perfect(this would be my first project). The transmission shifts well and has good syncros. The gear shifter needs the bushings replaced as there is some hunting for gears, lective as to the driving but would be a notable improvement(this would be my 2nd project).The body is extremely rust free. Note has been taken that the rear has been hit and repaired previously, oticable as imperfect work is seen in rear hatch door jam. Pop-top is in nice condition and has recently been re-coated. The poptop tent needs to be replaced, he top bunk is in good shape. This model has the hooks for the front child's cot, owever it is missing. All glass is good. All locks function, owever, everal keys are needed to lock and unlock. Air conditioning looks to be factory but does not work. The Rv hookup wiring does not work but the original parts appear all be present. The original wheels have recently been resprayed and look great. Tires need replacement, t is time, nd the choice of tire style has been left up to the buyer. The front bumper was a custom made piece, ade from the original split in two, elded to the Bus and a winch added. This is a suitable size winch that will pull this Bus out of any trouble that you could get into off road, r pull yourself to the perfect camping spot! This is a great project Bus that can be driven & has been daily for years!
Some highlights about this year Bus;
-reliable Bosch fuel injection which gives great gas mileage-better gas mileage than earlier models, s well as a larger fuel tank(15 gallons, arlier were 10)-Very usable camper setup with swing out table, ncluded. Also included with this Bus is an extra anchor for the table leg that has not been mounted. I think that it would be great mounted behind the passenger seat.-Pop-top has almost full size mattress for bunking up top-My favorite, s the swivel passenger seat. With the push of a lever and a twist of the seat, t spins on it's base to face rearward. This really opens up the rear camping area when hanging out with friends-Powerful 2 liter engine and the aircooled Buses best geared transmission for traveling at 'still' modern speeds-Disc brakes up front combined with power brakes make this Bus feel as though you are stopping a Honda.-12 volt electrical system fits in the modern world of charging cell phones, sing household inverters, olar panels, nd installing bluetooth and cd players, tc.-15" wheels allow access to many different modern tire styles and easy availability. My favorite for this year Bus are the Bf Goodrich off road Ta's!
