Description of 1971 Volkswagen Other

This is a rare and borderline historic vehicle. Bruce Meyers designed this kit car to be used as a racer which was towed to the desert for races. Hence the name "Tow'd". Only a few were ever built and assembled. Bruce himself just about killed himself in one of these things while racing in the Baja 1000. Typically they are either rusted and banged up beyond recovery...or they are wildly modified and quite expensive. This one is completely stock. Not many were made...and so not many remain.I bought it about 10 years ago in Sacramento and drove it home to my house in La Paz, CS, exico...La Paz is about 100 miles north of Cabo San Lucas on the Baja Peninsula. It is actually the finish line of the Baja 1000. As you can see from the pictures, ust is working on the chrome headlight buckets and the nerf bars, ront and rear. Otherwise the buggy is in excellent shape. Just had the engine tuned up by a local race mechanic...oil changed...and a new battery installed. You could drive it north to San Diego if you wanted to put yourself through that particular adventure. Stop lights are prominent on the roll bar, ut the turn signals and the license plate light have been removed...I have these pieces and they can be wired up and re-installed.I have a clean, igned-off California title which I received from the guy who sold me the car. I have a Bill of Sale from him and a set of license plates...so registration should be no more difficult than any other trip to the DMV. I can help arrange transportation to Tijuana, an Ysidro or Otay Mesa. You could pick-up the car in Tijuana and drive it across the border. Car transport companies are plentiful...there is a very active trade bringing cars to Baja from the States...so transportation is not an issue.A wire transfer to my Bank is not required, ut it would be cheaper for all concerned. I will need a 5% premium for any PayPal payment...that's what PayPal charges me! If you want to pick it up down here...cash will work just fine.Obviously...this is a "as..where is" transaction. No warranties either express or implied apply to this transaction.Best of Luck...feel free to contact me with any questions.
