Description of 1968 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Gertrude II, y 1968 VW Bus is up for sale. This started off as a Panel Bus and was converted to a camper in the 1970s. I have had this bus for about 1.5 years and have completed the following: VW Mechanic rebuilt 1835 cc engine and added double EMPI mufflers. He rebuilt entire front brakes and just repaired wheel cylinder and replaced shoes on rear right. Great brakes. He replaced front and rear shocks and rewired a small portion of wiring. New tires from Discount tires 4 and one used spare. The Bus was painted by a local shop called Grizzly Customs. They have painted around 7 VWs for me. The colors are not original but a combo I like, ought of a retro look. She has new tires, nterior, oor panels, un visors, ront & rear window rubber She is a really nice driver that gets looks and smiles. Be prepared to hear some VW stories from fellow enthusiasts :) The front bumper is original and I left the bends in it. The rear bumper has been changed by someone before I got it. When I went to install it it wasn't right as the overiders were welded on and the brackets were not lined up. My mechanic installed it using the bracket built into the car. The rear bumper has a hole and its a bit crooked. It has been around for a while and shows off its bumps and bruises. If I keep her I would take it off to show her cool exhaust. The heating tubes are not on the Bus so no heat. There were some holes in the floor on both driver's and passenger. The rest of the floor is solid with some surface rust (see photo) Driver side was much worse so I treated it with a rust not paint and added a thick piece of aluminum which is bolted down. Passenger side floor has a few holes that were cleaned and painted. Floor is solid.... All lights work but the middle slide on courtesy light.. The rear side light is missing its globe and could be replaced if you choose. Read description and look over photos. I have the table which I took out while replacing side wood. It has all brackets, intage ice chest painted to match. I have extra vinyl from the rear interior that may cover both front seats which is included, his is a really nice bus that has spent its life in Colorado. Bid to buy!!! Thanks for taking a look at Gertrude II. !

When I first got this van there was an old cassette deck with 2 speakers one over driver and one over passenger ceiling. The holes for 5 1/4" speakers still remain. The piece of ceiling wood can be replaced, emove it and use original as a template. The thin wood can be purchased at wood shops and is not very expensive. If I have a piece that will fit I will include it with the van. The car is shown with only one wiper but I have ordered one that will be here by the weekend.

VIN NUMBER: 218019982. When I got the bus it had a rear roof rack (non VW) on. When I had it painted it was removed but I had them leave the bolt holes. I will include this rack and you will have a choice to use it or fill in the holes with a water proof sealant. I will include a photo of the rack or before it was removed.

Correction: There is a spare rim but the tire is no good so you will need a tire for spare around $53.00 @ Discount Tires.

I had a set of curtains made for this Bus that I will include, n-hung in a bag. They are labeled where they go. They are a green, rown and beige plaid that clash with the outside color. They will come with Bus.
