Description of 1975 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Up for auction is a 1975 Volkswagen Kombi 15 Window bus that is a driver or a restoration project. This bus is in very driver quality condition and retains what appears to be its original 1500cc engine which runs very strong. The rocker panels are fairly straight with some rust which I have photographed but the original drains are still present. The roof drip rail is also clean and not full of putty. The floor pans are in pretty good condition and the pictures show it’s strengths and weaknesses. I have a clear Florida title in my name. Florida residents are required to pay me sales tax as I am a licensed and registered Florida dealer.

The split front windshield buses were made in Germany and also Brazil. German made buses with a split front windshield were manufactured in Germany up until 1967 andup until 1975 in Brazil. This is NOT a conversion or a made up bus, t is a factory built 15 window bus built by Volkswagen.

This bus runs very well and drives OK. It currently has a brake fluid leak which I believe is coming from the master cylinder. , he steering is par for the course with these buses, ot spectacular and definitely could be improved. The shifting is tight and pretty easy. The interior is there and in decent condition with a broken seat frame which I have photographed (easy fix)

The body is pretty lumpy and not so straight. It was used as a church shuttle in brazil and it was definitely used. The paint is due for a fresh restoration or kept the way it is as a driver. There is rust in and on this bus but its not a basket case. The glass shows normal wear with light scratches. All exterior lighting is functional. Tires will need to be replaced for daily driving. The floors are in pretty good shape, nd appear to be original.

Overall this bus is an eye catcher and will draw attention where ever it goes. It is not perfect so don't expect a piece of freshly polished jewelry. I highly encourage and insist on visual in person inspections whenever possible.
