Description of 1976 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon NA

You are bidding on a 1976 Volkswagen Commercial Bus. One of the workhorse of the fleet used for many applications. Most of these body types have be long since destroyed through daily use. This however is an example that has not been beat up.
Back story is that it was used for a toy store from the early 80's till the business was sold in the early 2000's. That owner sold it to the owner I bought it from. I have all the information I found on this neat back story and it will go with the bus once sold.
Because of this semi-pampered life, this bus is not beat up and destroyed. The panels and floor are still very straight and not banged up. There are however a couple body issues.
Both rockers have rot. The outer skins have started to go - but the inners are in good shape - shown in pics. The passenger side C pillar area down below the slider has rot and finally the rear passenger around inspection hole has rot. Everywhere else on the body is pretty good. If I were to keep her I would have the body work fixed and resprayed in original Marigold.
Mechanically you have a 2 liter fuel injected motor. Stock from the factory. She runs, shifts and stops. I typically use this bus to move large items, take stuff to the dump and occasionally hit up a show. Recently tuned, newish tires, all lights work. I would for sure jump in and go anywhere in town - but for longer trips Id want to go through the brakes and maybe pull the motor for a rebuild - as its true mileage is unknown. All the FI components are there and work, all grease points greased 6 months ago. Optima yellow top battery.
Ok, now some of the fun facts. This bus came with a BA6 Eberspacher gas heater. What is that? Its a stand alone heater that is thermostatically regulated. Sitting below the middle of the bus, you have heat all the time, weather the bus is running or not. Not a big deal in Arizona, but a must in the PNW and any other State that has actual seasonal change. Its in fully operational condition and ready to use.
There is a clock and it works perfect. You get a Volkswagen of America full roof rack in good shape with its original sticker.
Finally as an added option - the bus will include a 1975 Westfalia tow hitch meant for bay window buses and a 1978 Westfalia Essen Trailer to tow behind. The trailer is in very good shape and is in original, unrestored condition. Wear from use but in great shape. These little trailers are very light and are not even noticed when being pulled. They were meant for the multitude of small compact European cars on the road at the time and make a great addition to any VW Bus. I have sold these separately and they fetch between $1750 to $2750 depending on condition and accessories. This trailer is in the higher range with its rack and overall condition. Has title as well.
This bus is very versatile. Panels are affordable to the entry level enthusiast, leaving a blank canvas to build from. Its an excellent platform for the business owner wanting a unique advertising platform or its just fine working as it was intended, picking up fence posts from HomeDepot.
Overall, she's no show winner. But a true honest example that can easily be expounded from. Not destroyed or rotted out, containing several unique and rare functional add ons.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. Im available mos the time to talk by phone as well if needed.
Good Luck and Good Bidding!!!
First Vid is 2 years old and shows the trailer hook up - bus was being added to at the time. Different over riders will be included.
Second Vid was shot the other day and is how bus will be received. Roof rack in background.
