EBAY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE EUROPEAN VIN TRUCK IS NOT A 1980. Up for sale is my 1988 MK1 Volkswagen caddy Built in Wolfsburg Germany it spent the first part of it's easy life as a German Red Cross vehicle stationed in Singen, Germany. I purchased and imported the truck in the spring of 2013. I showed it at various car shows that summer promoting our small VW parts business. It has been garage kept since then. I added an early MK1 rabbit chrome bumper to replace the later plastic euro bumper. Original late model bumper and hella fog lights are included in the sale. At the time we also fitted OEM recaro seats, adjustable coilover suspension and 15" VWMS OZ racing wheels without effecting or compromising the trucks over all appearance. All, with the exception of the chrome bumper, have been replaced and put back to back to stock with the original parts. There is no structural rust anywhere to be found. However along the bottom of the Original windshield seal there are a few spots from where the paint has started to lift. I can address this with potential buyers. The Caddy shows 11,171 Kilometers or just under 7,000 miles. I believe this to be accurate because of the over all original condition of the truck. Included TUV paperwork also shows Kilometers at time of inspection. I welcome anyone to come and check it out for themselves. 1988 Volkswagen Caddy WVWZZZ14ZJW005694 built June 16, 1987 in L90E (alpine white) 1.6 naturally asperated diesel 4 speed manual transmission 11,171 kilometers Delivered to H.K. FAHRZEUGBAU GmbH for conversion. Fitted with various items for German Red Cross Fitted with Hella steering wheel Fitted with rear Cap Painted LY3D Registered for use with the Deutsches Rotes Kruez Kreisverband Konstanz EV on October 16, 1989 TUV inspection Nov. 2002 shows 9284 KM TUV inspection Nov. 2004 shows 9731 KM Purchased March of 2013 Port of entry 1303, Baltimore, MD. Entry Date April 27, 2013 Replaced valve cover gasket and rubber breather hose due to being dry and cracked. Driven approximately 800 km since purchase without issue. Current known issues: Original starter sticks occasionally Oil pan seal has small leak (OEM replacement included) Paint lifted in 3 small areas along the bottom of windshield seal Contacts on wiper stalk are dirty and sometimes will need to be jiggled to get it to power the wiper. German title and TUV paper work included, along with all customs and epa paperwork from the port of entry. Also includes 2 spare center caps, original owners manual, and original wiper motor. This truck has a current Vermont registration and plates in my name. Located just north of Philadelphia, PA. I have not transferred the title to PA to save on taxes. This is a very nice MK1 caddy, rabbit pickup. You will be hard pressed to find another example this solid and clean. Not to mention it was German built and is 5 years newer than any North American rabbit pick up. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is due at the end of auction, balance due within 7 days. I have no problem storing and or getting the vehicle ready for transport. I welcome any inquires and inspections before end of auction.
