Description of 1971 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Deluxe Westfalia

1971 VW Volkswagen Bus Westy Westfalia Deluxe Camper.71' is the best year for early BayWindow busses.First year for factory front disc brakes.Last year with Type-1 engineDeluxe is the best trim option.Westfalia is the best camper setup. For the true VW Bus person this is a $45,000 bus when restored to factory.
It runs and drives.I drive it hundreds of miles a week, with some long three hour trips no problem.Needs work but worth itThe previous owner (PO) removed the cabinets and top, but it can be taken back to original easily. This is a great Bus that's ready for a camping trip right now!1600cc engine leaks some oil like most VW's;)091 4 speeds transaxle! not the stock 002 transaxle, this is the more powerful better stronger 091 trans.
Also!!!!!!!!!!!'The winner of this Bus has the option of a huge discount when adding a Subaru engine conversion from SubiSwaps!!The normal price for the SubiSwaps conversion is $12,000, but the winner of this Bus gets the swap for only $9,000 added to the winning auction price of the bus, or just drive it as it is:) but the Subaru engine is amazing!
It has 46,937 miles on the dash, but the speedometer and mileage counter stopped working before I owned it. It has the roof of another 1971 non-Westy sealed and screwed to cover the Westfalia opening in the roof that the PO installed. It can easily be removed to but a westy top back on.
I have been using this as my daily driver recently and it's too fun, but I have two other busses so, this may find a new home. I'm in no rush to sell. These are getting hard to find especially the highly sought after 1971 VW Deluxe Westy Bus.... the best of the best! What you see is what you get.Fell free to come check it out and take it for a test drive:)
