Description of 1982 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon 3-Door Pop-top Van Camper

My local VW mechanic confirms that this VW Vanagoncamper is one of the smoothest running he has ever driven. It was purchased in New England in 2013, having been stored indoors for the previous four years. In 2013/2014 all the mechanical parts, including engine, were replaced. The "new" engine is a 2010 Golf, which had only 18,000 miles on it when installed, and hasbeen driven less than one-thousand miles since installation. Originally diesel, the van has been converted to gasoline. Other updates include suspension and brakes, radiator and fuel tank, front heater core, blower motor, battery, cable, starter, fuel pump, clutch master cylinder, stereo/speakers, all-weather tires, alloy rims, enhanced headlights, plus a long list of hoses, switches, valves, seals, bushings, bearings, gaskets, O-rings, etc. In addition, the body is rust free, the interior is in very good condition, complemented by new rubber mats throughout, the pop-top works well, with the tent being in good condition with only a minor scrape on one side. Thevan has allits original camping equipment--stove, fridge, water tank, plug-ins.My mechanic (a Swissnational whose family worked for decades at the VW Westfalia factory in Wolfsburg, Germany), the ownerof Gerteis Motors in Shreveport LA, has worked on VW's inthis country for over 25 years and is happy to verify the excellent running condition of the van. Please contact me if I can provide any further useful information regarding the updates/condition of thevehicle.
