Description of 1967 Volkswagen Type III

1967 VW Fastback (Type 3)

I am relisting this car because I had it in the wrong category. My apologies to the watchers.

Beloware 4 videos of thecar linked to YouTube:

I purchased this Fastback in 2010 and have enjoyed driving it over the last 7 years. It has always been kept in my garage under a car cover and I never drove it in the rain.

Here is the history on the car as told to me by the previous owner: The car was parked in a barn by the original owner in 1984 (you can see the car has a 1984-85 inspection sticker on the windshield). The second owner purchased the car and did an in depth restoration to include a tear down of the entire car and an engine and transmission rebuild. Pans are all new and done correctly. Everything is documented in photos.

The interior seats, headliner, interior paint and paint under the front decklid trunkare original.

The front and rear bumpers are original and have not been re-chromed.

To the best of my knowledge all of the glass is original and pop out rear windows work perfectly.

Driver's seat has a hole and there is a hole in the headliner. They are not perfect but are original.

The entire restoration was documented by photos and explanation in a binder that I am including in the sale.

I purchased the car in June, 2010 with 57,148 miles on the odometer and was told they were original, although I have no way to prove that. It currently has 67,713 miles on the odometer.

Items replaced with new components since my ownership: Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, front rotors, a German master cylinder and brake fluid flush and replace. There really wasn't much that it needed.

The car has had an electronic ignition put in it and starts the first time every time.
Regular oil changes and valve adjustments.
Front end is tight and does not shake or shimmy.
The clock does not work and the radio is not original.

This is a beautiful rust-free example of a hard to find car. The pictures show it all. I only ever entered it into one car show, bugout in 2012 and it won 1st place.

Please, I would encourage potential buyers to inspect the car or hire someone to come inspect the car prior to placing bids.

I have the car advertised locally and reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells.

Clear Title in my name. Both keys and original owner's manual included in sale.

All sales are final.

I will assist thebuyer if they decide to have the car shipped but all fees and shipping and transportation arrangements and agreements with shippersare the buyer's responsibility.
