Classic Ultra Rare Euro Here is my 1988 Jetta Coupe 1.8L Wolfsburg Edition 5 Speed Ultra rare 2 door Jetta up for sale... If YOU are trying to build a show car you'll love this as a starting point AGAIN its a UNIQUE car if you wanted to restore it it would make for a great project as the chassis is in great condition. Its a solid car with very low mileage that was owned by an old lady who worked in the Chicago Public Schools for YEARS before I bought it, a true garage find in 2011 when I bought and babied it. Great for someones first car in high school, Great if you want to cruise VW clubs and shows you always get attention with this OR....... NOTE AS A DAILY DRIVER: It runs good, idles a little high, everything works I bet if you recharged the AC system, it'd blow cold no problem. I get about 35 40 MPG easily on the highways. Tires are new KUMHOS All season Performance, Enkie RIMS look good, yes real enkie's-not some cheapo rim. SOLID performance struts I bought from a company in Belgium, forgot the make it was years ago, NOT CHEAPO COIL-overs.... it rides nice. Chrome MAGNAFLOW suitcase exhaust and chrome tips makes it sound good not too loud and annoying RICER crap. THE PAINT is flat black nothing fancy, I was going for the black out. -Premium suspension and STICKY Khumo tires...... IT HANDLES LIKE ITS ON RAILS!!!!! but it is still comfortable, not too rigid. ZERO BOUNCE - Cruises very GOOD and I have had it packed with 4 people WITHOUT RUBBING!!!! -Kenwood USB ready Receiver hooked up to a 1400 Watt Sony Xplode AMP, 12 inch Sony Xplode Subwoofer, new int speakers and digital antenna. THE TRUNK BOOOMS pretty good!!! Wake up and annoy the neighbors, or your girlfriends parents!!!! Jus sayin.... -The Clutch and Transmission are so solid and well done that this thing basically finds its own gears, no grind, no jerky motions. JUST a solid well operating component of the car. Really Drives Easy! Taking a closer LOOK at the car you'll see it will eventually need a better drivers seat, mines a little loose, a new header small exhaust manifold leak on the 30 year old header..... has a little rust here and there like in the drivers door jamb. The drivers side has rust under the door and floor. BUT REALLY the car has little rust, which can be expected... but its remarkably clean granted its been a Chicago car most its life..... SALT SUCKS..... Lets be serious, these 1 off specialty Volkswagens are getting eaten up and collected. You see the Samba 13 Window vw BUS go for over $20k, MINT MK1's and MK2's are going for $7- 10 grand in original or restored condition. Low Milage cars like these are DIAMONDS in the ruff....
