Description of 1982 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Love this Vanagon but found a 70k mile original in AZ that is Automatic so the family can help drive on long vacation trips. The New Vanagon is here and this little VW needs to find a new home!
The reserve is low for a Vanagon of this quality and a great VW to make memories in. Bid early and Bid often and lets find her a home.
This Vanagon started off life as a water cooled Diesel and has been converted to a gas powered 1.8 litre out of a 1985 VW Golf. Motor runs strong and does not smoke and starts on the first crank with out needing to hit the gas. Having only driven locally since owned without any problems and would make a great VW to make lots of memories in for you and your family or friends.
This lovely Vanagon is a very desirable Westphalia Camper Van that sleeps 4 adults comfortably. Has a fold down rear seat bed for 2 adults and room for two adults in the pop top tent on roof when raised. Equipped with a built in Refrigerator, Sink and Propane stove. The Sink and stove work great, but the fridge I have not been able to get working yet. You have plenty of storage for trips under rear seat, closet, above seat/bed storage and below sink and in front of the closet in the rear has additional 2 storage cabinets. Room in top of rear hatch is available as well as compartments under driver and passenger swivel seats. Seats turn around to make use of camping tables that provide dining in the VW. When the Pop Top Tent is raised it has room of 6'+ to stand up in VW.
There is screens in the side windows and rear netting included and vent in tent to aide with ventilation.
The Good:
The 1.8 litre motor is very strong and has some nice torque. The short block is for a 105hp motor also has a EV head off a 112hp motor per the codes. It runs stronger than the 86 model I have.
Rebuilt carburetor and extra rebuild carburetor kit & carburetor included.
New fuel lines, fuel pump and fuel filter all installed.
New Battery.
New Alternator.
New distributor cap, rotary button, plug wires installed.
New carpet in front and carpet included to change area in front of cooking station if desired.
Diesel model Vanagons came with rear mounted batteries that are in rear engine bay area. This Vanagon has a modification to allow running a Single or Two linked batteries for long off grid camping at the flip of a switch installed already.
Vanagon has hookups for 110v and city water for use at KOA type campsites or driveway camping.
The Bad:
Some small surface rust in the usual area on seams and one spot under window.
Left Quarter panel has a area where looks like someone turned or backed into something.
Tires are older and would need to be replaced for any sort of long trip.
Tear on the left side of tent needs attention. I was going to replace but I believe a temporary fix could be made to get thru the Fall Camping season. REI sells a tent repair tape I would try to patch.
Fridge may or may not work. I spent about 30 minutes on it with out any luck getting it running.
This VW will need to be shipped and can assist with the pick up. It runs and drives well but due to needing tires and only driving locally I would not imply it could drive cross country tomorrow. So please keep that in mind when bidding. With a little more work it should be ready for many adventures, just not yet.
I will be listing the VW locally and reserve the right to end the auction early. If my reserve is meet then I will let the Auction run it course to the end date.
Go Luck and Happy Bidding! This VW Vanagon had many more memories left in her to share.
