Description of 1986 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

We are selling our 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia. We haven't been able to use it as much as we like since having our second kid.It is a pop top camper. It was originally a transporter that the previous owner, who was a VW mechanic, converted into the pop-top.He also put theCIS Rabbit enginein that has much more power then the Wassserboxer engine. The back seat lays flat into a bed and there is a cushion that goes over the "trunk" area to sleep on. The pop top allows for storage when parked or additional sleeping. There are power windows. We are including all new bluish gray curtains that need to be installed. Also including a brand new screen for the sliding door that needs to be installed. This is nice when you are parked so that you can go in and out without letting in the bugs. It has an upgraded steel bumper with an integrated hitch. The flooring is a Pergo style wood. The "jump" seat is included but would have to be modified because of the increased height of the wood floor. There is a pop up table on the interior driver side that is really handy. All seat belts are present and in good working order. The engine has always run well. Overall, it is a lot of fun and you can go anywhere!

This vehicle is clean with very little rust. I believe it was West Coast Vehicle and we have stored it in a garage since 2011. However this is not a model vehicle. The previous owner did paint it and did the floor. The headliner may need some gluing within 6 inches of the back door and there are spots for lights to be installed. The cover for the fuses is also missing. It has practically new tires with less then 1000 or so miles on them.

There is a scratch along the driver side of the vehicle. This is shown in a photo. There is also a mark on the back of the vehicle as shown in a close-up and a dent in the back door that does not affect the function of the back door.

Overall this is a solid vehicle that would bea great platform to "fully restore" or you could use it as is and have fun. You are welcome to come and see the vehicle run/drive.
