Description of 1973 Volkswagen Beetle-New --

Conceived as a simple, cheap, easy to produce family car, the Volkswagen Käfer translated from German into People's Car named Beetle. The car went on to be extremely successful all over the world and "Volkswagen Culture" defined generations of Americans. In July 2003, the last Beetle rolled off the production line in Mexico. Over 21 million units were produced and the little Beetle came in fourth place in the worldwide "car of the century" competition in 1999. GR Auto Gallery... is pleased to present this nice and simple 1973 Beetle for your consideration. Finished in a lovely shade of Marina Blue, the owner tells us the paint is completely original and we'd be inclined to agree. While it does have imperfections from age, the paint quality is still quite nice overall, with an even finished and decent gloss. The chrome trim is in nice original condition and is definitely presentable as is the other plastic and rubber trim. The car rides on factory 15in steel wheels with the beauty dishes. Twin exhaust round out the modest, but charming exterior. The interior is in very nice shape and features black trim as well as black leatherette seats. The seats are in excellent condition and have good padding, the headliner is equally nice. The dash board is original and crack free and still has the original radio. The factory steering wheel is very nice as well and is free of cracks. Carpets, and other trim are also very nice. The horizontally opposed 1600cc 4 cylinder engine is an eager runner and claims to have been rebuilt by Hesperia Automotive in 2011. The current owner has owned the car since a similar date and has put very limited miles on it since then. The car drives wonderfully and the 4-speed manual is easy to operate. These cars represent a whole era of car culture and are full of charm. This Beetle is an excellent original example of a legendary car.
