Description of 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Type 14

Fuzzy Dice Autos

Has up for auction an extremely desirable 1974 Karmann Ghia Convertible in all around great condition.

This as you know is the very last production year of the Ghia. With only 1558 convertibles assembled, this makes our car considerably rare and highly collectable.

Now some information about the car;

Owned by the same local family since 1976. Always garaged and maintained and driven fairly often with 125,211 miles recorded on the working odometer. She was professionally repainted in its original Willow Green color in the mid 90’s and still shines like new.

The convertible top and glass rear window are excellent. The same can be said for the all around glass, chrome, wheels, tires and rubber molding. The original convertible top boot is also in great shape.

The underside is as nice as the rest of the car. No rust nor damage anywhere. The car has absolutely no body filler and is as solid as it was in 1974. Photos of the under carriage upon request.

The original interior is complete and very acceptable. There is a minor tear on the backrest of the driver’s seat and a sun crack on the dash. The gauge package is intact and are all in working order. An aftermarket radio was installed back in the 90’s.

The original 1584 cc, 50 HP, single barrel carb motor runs smooth, quiet, smoke free with no fluid leaks of any kind.

Just done was a complete service check. Replaced was the alternator, battery, ignition and turn signal switch, oil change and lube.

Then on May 14th. Of this year the clutch, clutch breather, fly wheel and valve cover gaskets were replaced with new OEM parts. A complete historical service record file and original owner’s manual come with the car.

This little classic Ghia runs and drives great . No hesitation, shifts smoothly through all four gears and stops on a dime. This car will easily do 90 mile per hour on the highway. Drive it anywhere and often or save her for those summer cruises and car shows.

So if you are in the market for a very special Karmann Ghia, the last year produced, than this one’s for you.

Unlike most classic car dealers who photograph their cars in professionally lighted studios or on Hollywood driveways, we at Fuzzy Dice shoot our cars on our lot using only a point and shoot camera. So what you see is what you get. Most times even nicer in person.

Best of luck bidding!
