Description of 1981 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Westfalia

NO RESERVE!! This one WILL SELL!!
This van was relisted because the first high bidder simply flaked out. Please stay off the marijuana before bidding.
Now this van is being relisted a SECOND time because the last winner hadn't gotten the complete approval of his wife when he bid.
Neither of these bidders saw the vehicle or had any information that isn't listed here. Please be a professional. Your wife doesn't have veto power after you win the auction!!! Please consider the cost of getting the vehicle shipped to your location. I have used USHIPdotCOM in the past.

This VW Westfalia Bus does not run or drive, but it is an excellent start for having a camper that lasts for a long time.
Body and Paint: The body has never been repaired from a wreck or repainted. There are small dents and some damage in front of both rear wheels as seen in the photos. There is very little rust on this Vanagon. The worst rust is next to the rear window seal (see picture). It is amazing to me how fresh the wheel wells, rocker areas, and floor-pans are. I can send other pictures on request.

Engine: The original engine with its fuel injection and A/C compressor are included with this Vanagon, but they are not installed. New pistons and cylinders are included with the sale along with a gasket set, new muffler, etc. The engine must be completely disassembled and rebuilt, but most all of the new parts are included. Of course, you can purchase a kit that allows a late model Subaru or other engines (gas and diesel) to bolt right in if you would like better economy and power.

Pop Top: The outer surface of the top needs some attention. I assume that it would clean up with some scrubbing and certainly with some paint, but I am not positive about that.

Kitchen: The kitchen is very original and has not been tested. I have another spare fridge and stove that I will include with the purchase so that extra knobs and pieces will be available to you. See picture of those parts in a storage room.

Chassis: Of course the tires need to be replaced. The brakes and emergency brake do work but I would recommend all wear-parts and fluid be replaced soon.

Interior: A previous owner put down newer carpet in the central area over the original carpet. The driver's seat is torn as can be seen in the picture. The dashboard is not cracked. The table that goes between the front seats is included but is not installed. The original bug screen for the rear hatch is included in very good condition, along with two original privacy curtains.
Title: I have the paper title in my hand, but it is not in my name or even the previous owner's name. The previous owner registered and tagged this van but never changed the title over to their name because Georgia does not require it. I do have the previous owner's registration paperwork which will be included with the old title. The last signature on the title is from a friendly American man who currently lives/works in Norway and I can easily provide his contact information.

(The trailer that the Vanagon is sitting on is NOT included in the auction)

New message from: maddmaxx356 (784) "I can see the original rear hatch screen in the upper storage slot. Let this auction go FULL term. Don t let anyone try to end the auction early. You have a rare, original REALLY sought-after classic!!!"
