- Thank you for looking at my 1981 VW Rabbit convertible for sale. This car is in very good condition for its age. The car has been resprayed about 10 years ago and the paint job was not the best. The car will come with the copy of its original window sticker from 1981, the original accessories brochure, and will come with a pile of receipts dating back to 1981 to 2018.
- This car will also come with all the original parts that were changed that you can see (Wheels and Seats). Also I will include the original car cover. The car is originally from New Mexico so it has no rust underneath. The only surface rust spots are the ones I pointed out in the photos. The car's undercarriage is fully coated with black 3M coating to prevent from any rust even though the car does not get driven in the winter only a summer cruiser.
- The car runs,drives, and shifts perfectly ( all shifter bushing replaced this summer). The car has brand new BBS Style wheels wrapped in Yokohama S-Drive Tires only 1000 miles on them. The car does have brand new just installed BC Coilovers and they ride amazing. The car is not lowered all the way to the ground it is almost on the highest setting. The car does not scrape anywhere. The E Brake on the car does not engage and i have never taken a look to adjust it because it did not bother me, but if this is a deal breaker for anyone i can get it fixed.
- The car also has Genuine Recaro seats imported from Germany that do not slide but the back is adjustable, also the rear seats were upholstered in the same material to match the front 2 seats. The convertible top is manual and operates perfectly and does not leak. There is a little tear on the top by the rear window, which I pointed out but it does not leak.
- It has a 1.6L Fuel Injected engine gated to a 5 speed manual transmission. I got brand new spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap installed 2 months ago along with a fresh oil change. I purchased this car completely stock and I have owned it for about 2 year and 6 months. All the modifications that I have done to the vehicle can be reverted to stock if you want the original look (which is pictured with the white wheels). The few little touches I have added was to make it look more Euro. The bumpers are currently plasti-dipped black originally they are chrome in the center with black on the outside ends.
