This 1973 Volvo 1800ES is one of approximately 8,100 sport wagons produced during a three-year run, and has spent time in Utah and Illinois prior to its recent acquisition. The car is powered by a fuel-injected 2.0-liter four mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission and features reupholstered seats, Hella driving lights. A December 2018 service included replacing the fuel pump, a safety inspection, and an oil change. This 1800ES is offered with a clean Illinois title.
Originally California white, this Volvo 1800 ES was repainted in Volvo Correct yellow approximately 10 years ago according to the previous owner. Close-ups of the finish, tinted glass hatch door, badging, and other trim are provided in the gallery below. Hella driving lights are mounted on the front bumper, and brightwork includes a factory-style twin-tip exhaust outlet.
Silver-painted factory 15 inch steel wheels wear polished trim rings and are mounted with newer195/65 Pirelli P400 Touring tires. Disc brakes are equipped at each corner.
The cabin features bucket seats reupholstered in black vinyl with gray fabricinserts.Smiths gauges include a tachometer, 120-mph speedometer, and 6-digit odometer displaying just under 74k miles, which are believed to be actual.
The 2.0-liter B20 inline-four features Bosch D-Jetronic fuel injection and sends power to the rear wheels via a Borg-Warner Type 35 3-speed automatic transmission. Engine components including the valve cover and fan are color-matched to the body. Recent service included replacement of the fuel pump and an oil change.
