Description of 1989 Volvo 780

  • Attn: eBay only let me list 18 photos, but I have the clean Carfax report, and more than 23 pages of service records equaling $9,984+ from 2017-2019. Please ask me for anything you'd like to see. I would be glad to help arrange shipping if you are not local; I have done this many times before. I have sold several vehicles on eBay since 2004, and will make it very easy for you.
  • Up for sale, my 1989 Volvo 780 Bertone. Between my brother and I, this was our 4th, 780 Bertone. This by far was the best, most original example. This 780 has the B230FT; Turbo charged 2.3L, 4 cylinder engine. This car runs fantastic, is very quiet, and is SO comfortable. From 2017 to 2019, the services included- new front under-spoiler & paint, FULL timing belt service, battery, full heater core job, heater control valve, E-Brake shoes and cables, both engine mounts, front brakes, rear brakes, battery, ball joints, control arms, power antenna, sunroof cable replacement, catalytic converter, Nivomat rear shocks, PCV tune up w/spark plugs, cap, rotor, coolant hoses, intake manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets, crank seal, cam seals, turbo oil seals, transmission output shaft seal and bushing, and more. The sunroof works fantastic, the power seats, antenna, tape player, you name it.
  • Personally, my brother and I both said we wouldn't sell another one, especially the nicest example we ever had; BUT, life happens. We just want someone to drive it and value it for what it is. I took this to a few Cars & Coffee's last year, and it still gets the appreciation. It you look at the undercarriage picture, you'll see all the factory under body coating is all still intact- it's amazing; But it helps that it has been garaged for a very long time. The only cons I can think of are a slow oil drip from the oil cooler (that the oil filter attaches to), a slightly sagging headliner in the rear, the rear bumper upper chrome trim is missing, drivers door panel eventually needs work, and scratches on the paint - doors, roof, which would be expected from the age. I have not done any paint correction or touch ups, and you can see from the photos how shiny the paint is. The car is still on the road and ready for test drives. Thank you very much for reading my ad.
