Description of 1953 Willys CJ3A

I am selling my 1953 Willys CJ3A Jeep. This project has been extensively and thoroughly rebuilt over the last couple years and is in excellent mechanical condition. Road worthy and ready for summer driving. this is a fun vintage Jeep....this is your chance to own a cool piece of automotive history.
Original drivetrain: Flat Head 4 cyl w/ 3 speed manual trans & twin stick Dana 18 case.....this is not a project, this is ready to drive.....this Jeep is currentlyregisteredand insured and has antique original 1953 VA plates that i can include if buyer wants them.
highlights of work performed includes:
-converted to 12v system w/ new alternator, battery, and wiring-all new lighting with Turn signals & Hazard lights added for street driving
-all new brake system - hard & soft lines, all axle parts, etc
-all new steering system - rebuilt column, new steering wheel, all tie rods, etc
-all new fuel system - tank, lines, carb, fuel pump, hoses, etc
-new factory reproduction 16x4 wheels & 235/85r16 BFG mud terrain tires
-new upholstery - new pans, new foam, & vintage style olive drab canvas on original seat frames
-trans and transfer case rebuilt-Steering knuckles rebuilt-all gauges working, 12V cig outlet added under dash
-all new gaskets, seals, axle yokes, u-joints, hoses, oil, fluids, etc
-new ignition/tune up - converted to electric distributor, new plugs, wires, etc
-all new suspension - new leaf springs, nitrogen charged shocks, original style shackles, u-bolts, u-bolt plates, etc
-much more i am sure i am forgetting - will be happy to walk the new owner through any details or questions at time of pick up.
the body is in original condition as i bought it and no body work was performed. All that was done was painting it one color......so, there are dents and holes drilled, some rust holes, all the character you would expect for a 63 year old Jeep. overall a very solid original example for my part of the country. The new owner could take on that part of the project if they choose....personally i liked the "history" that the imperfections presented.

Please be prepared to pay promptly, we require a $500.00 deposit by Paypal within 48 hrs. of the close of the auction. Jeep is available for viewing and pick up in Richmond, VA

Good Luck & thanks for bidding!
