1940s Ford War Time Jeep GPW No title but we will help get one at buyers expense. If you need help shipping we may be able to help at buyers expense. Not sure the exact year. Minimal rust and and needs restored. This jeep is rough but has much potential. Have done nothing with the motor so don't know if it runs. Great for restoring, and has the machine gun turret mounting plate. Willys MB and theFordGPW, both formally called the U.S. Army Truck, 1/4 ton, 4x4, Command Reconnaissance. The Fords went into production as"GP", with "G" for a "Government" type contract and "P" commonly used by Ford to designate any passenger car with awheelbaseof 80in (203cm)By October 1941, it became apparent Willys-Overland could not keep up with the production demand and Ford was contracted to produce them as well – exactly according toWillysblueprints, drawings, specifications and patents. The Ford car was then designatedGPW, with the "W" referring to the "Willys" licensed design.
