Description of 1985 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce

1985 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce estate donation to charity. This is a non running Spider from South West Utah and now Arizona. SELLING WITH NO RESERVE!!! The good!! The car is 99% complete (as per the pictures) and would be a good basis for fix-up as a daily driver or a restoration project Very straight body no problematic rust (no floorboard rust). Complete drive train( see engine info). Set of 5 Veloce wheels. tires hold pressure but will need replacement for driving safety. Convertible top bows are sound. but canvas needs replacing. clear title. true factory AC (vs dealer add-on) all side glass is good and this car is perfect to restore…. Take your great motor and interior out of a rusty car and install it into this sound chassis. The Bad! Looks like the car was parked after the oil pan broke (don’t know if engine blew. but crank and connecting rods look intact; or oil pan was accidentally broken. curb/road debris?) and thus engine was shut down. In any case I’m considering the engine had a significant internal failure and will need total internal rebuild or swap out (see pic of engine oil pan/crank shaft area). The only rust problems are in the spare tire well (a classic Alfa problem) and passenger side front rocker panel. Neither are significant and can be easily repaired (see pic) . Door bottoms show no to little rust. There is just surface rust in chips & scratches on other body parts. Canvas top has lost its’ water proofness and has allowed mist to settle on interior. there is no mold smell and “dust does wipe-up with no residue on plastic. top will need to be replaced. Seat upholstery has sun rot and will need to be recovered or replaced. floor carpet is worn out. and door panels have failed from water leaks from window top (door top plastic arm rests are present) . Windshield is cracked. drivers vent window has lost top pivot. Dash is cracked. Front apron (body panel under bumper) has some road/curb damage and will need straightening.
