Description of 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV |
For sale regrettably is my 1974 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Project. I bought this car in Alabama where it was last registered in 1992. The car has a clean title in my name now. When I bought this car it had been sitting in the mud under a cover. So unfortunately there is rust in just about all the common areas and a bit more. The right side of the car fared slightly better than the left, ut the floors and trunk are rotted. I started cutting the major rust from the vehicle and acid washing the surface rust spots, nd has been garage kept since I have owned it (not that it matters that much at this point).' The interior seats are in surprisingly great condition, he rears are slightly dried out but look good. The carpet is slightly faded in some spots but very good otherwise. Some touch up with dye is all it needs to be good driver quality. All of the glass is in excellent shape no chips or cracks and very clear from what I can see. Windows roll up and down easily. Much of the trim on the car is in good condition. With a fresh battery in it the motor will turn over great, il appears okay and coolant is still green. But due to a completely rotted fuel tank, he crazy spica fuel injection system and probably some distributor ignition points issues from sitting so long I have lost interest in the vehicle. Clearly the rust is a big issue but otherwise this car has a lot of great things going for it so I hope someone can see the same potential I did but have more time and resources than I currently have. The car does roll very easily as well so the brakes are not seized but the tires and rims are in no condition to roll high speed (all four tires will have to be off the ground to transport) also since I never got it running- I do not know the condition otherwise of the brakes etc. Of course the car is sold as is where is, o you will be responsible for transporting unless you are local I may be able to tow for a negotiated cost. Ive tried to hit what I think are all the important parts of the car without writing a book but if you have any question please ask. Thanks for looking and bidding. I forgot to mention that I did have the driver exterior door handle (taken off to stop rust from spreading) as well as the interior cranks and door pulls. They should be in a box in the garage somewhere and when found will be included. As well as any other Alfa parts and original manual and a couple of Alfa owners guide books I have. |
