Description of 1968 Alfa Romeo GTV |
up for sale is this very nice 1968 Alfa Romeo "step nose" GT1300Junior. According to Storico Alfa Romeo the car was built on July 9, 968 and sold on July 12, 968 to someone in Rome. The instruments are in Kilometers, nd the speedometer indicates 59,000+Kms. The car was originally pine green in color while the interior was "wild boar leather sakai." The car received a re-paint at some point, nd remains in excellent condition with just one little rock chip (about 1/8" in diameter). The interior is original as far as I can tell. Original headliner is in very good shape, riginal rubber mats are in good to very good condition (new replacements are available). The car has had a few "GTA" modifications done to it. The door handles are GTA. The steering wheel is a GTA type, he wheels are GTA type, he front grill screens are GTA type, he oil sump pan is protected by a skid plate of GTA type. The instruments in the car are all original and in excellent condition and they all work. Dash board has original wood grain applique with one crack near the glove box door. No material is missing and it could be glued back down such that it would be almost unnoticeable. The bright work is in good original condition. The bumpers show some age patina. The seats are in very good condition and are very comfortable when driving. The car has a 1300cc all aluminumengine which is original to it. The engine starts right up. The engine does not smoke. Oil pressure reads 60+ pounds when the car is driving. The 5 speed Alfa Romeo transmission functions properly. The car runs through the gears very nicely, nd cruises all day long on the freeway. This Bertone designed Alfa "step nose" is considered to be one of the finest designs ever done by them. Most Alfa lovers would agree. Given that a "real" GTA now sells for $200,000 and up, he car offered here is a steal by comparison. In fact, ne could add some additional GTA parts such as shocks, rakes, nbsp;a hotter cam, nd this car would give close to GTA performance.
