Description of 1959 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce |
You are bidding on a 1958 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spyder Veloce. series 750F. It has all of the unique Veloce parts. including the correct Weber carbs. Marelli regulator. generator. and starter. air cleaner. gauges. etc. It appears that someone started a restoration on it by removing some of the trim and spraying black primer on it many decades ago. The only parts I know are missing are the bumpers and the seats. There may be some other minor parts missing. but everything you see in the pictures goes with the car. including the 4 original veloce wheels. VIN is AR149507012 Engine no. is 131532972 Here is what Mr Fazio. the Alfa Romeo archivist in Italy reported to me about this car: “According to our documentation files. the chassis number AR 1495. 07012 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce. manufactured on the 3rd July 1959 and sold on the 9th July 1959 to Hoffman Motor Car Co. . New York. U. S. A. The body colour is white. with black interiors. The engine number you wrote doesn’t correspond to the engine originally fitted in this car. but is matching for 32X7X. Yours. Sincerely. /p> Marco Fazio” According to paperwork that came with the car. the veloce engine that is in it now was present at least as early as 1960. so if the engine was replaced. this occurred prior to 1960. The car has been in storage since 1965. The only rust I could find on this car is seen in the pictures. including a small area at the rear of the driver’s side floor. a large area of the right rocker. a small area on the left rear rocker. and a small. thin sliver of rust under the battery area of the trunk. The rest of the car is free of rust holes. There is no evidence of any metal replacement due to rust anywhere on the car. It is very sound. I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. but I can give the name of a good. reliable shipper if you wish. Buyer will be given a Bill of Sale and the 1965 New York Registration for the car. (New York did not issue Titles for cars this old. ) If you have any questions. you can use the “Ask Seller A Question” box. or call me at (912) 222-5771 between 9 AM and 9 PM. Eastern time. |
