Description of 1984 Alfa Romeo GTV GTV6 |
We bought this on ebay and believed it was a restored car... it is not. It did not run when it showed up, despite the ad that we bought it from, and it had lots of issues, and we took it to the shop and had it repaired and made driveable. It runs and drives but still has misc odd electrical issues but nothing serious. The turn signals flash fast, horn doesn't work for a few examples; nothing serious. Below is the list that we were told was done when we bought it. I cannot confirm or deny, but at this junction it does run and drive. I have more than 6500 in the car and I just wanted a genuinely restored one as it was originally listed... this car is not for me. It runs well now, hence new fuel pump, rebuild afm, and some wiring corrections. It shifts smoothly, though slight grind into second when down shifting if hard. Tires are new. You could likely drive it where ever, but I would tow it if it were me. It is likely a good daily driver but it is NOT restored or a show car... If you want a decent platform to restore or a driver or whatever, it is a great car. Thats not what I wanted... I wanted a turn key car. With that said, it does run and drive and we have clean title ready for the next owner. Good luck. Below is what we were told but have no verification. Alfa Romeo Logo center wheel hubs.Alfa Romeo Logo gas tank cap emblems On Aug-16-17 at 07:04:04 PDT, seller added the following information: We have been asked about rust. Under the hood, on the edges of the car where the hood closes against, there has been rust repaired clearly. They did a poor job, looks like fiberglass mat and liquid glass.... it is smoothed out, mostly, and painted, but not professional and was probably done in their back yard. It was spray painted it most likely appears. You cannot see it when the hood is closed, and you may or may not even notice when its open, but to me, this is just not the right car for my mission. I do not see evidence of other rust repair or present rust. The floor boards are clean, appear original without repairs. The rear looks clean and doesnt appear to have much in the way or any rust. I did not put on a lift, I simply looked, though closely, and did not discover anything I did not like or that caused concern. The front tow eye underneath is bent up a tad and clearly has been used, but it is not rusty or anything and the area is not either. The bottom of the engine is dirty, oil, etc... but doesnt appear to have any leaks. Drove it around yesterday and parked it, no drips under it, etc. |
