Description of 1969 Alfa Romeo Spider

This car is a USA Boat Tail Spider with the Spica fuel injection and split dualbrake booster system. The original 1750 engine (AR 00551 03485) turns freely by hand or with power supplied to the starter and shows a compression of over 144 psi in all cylinders. nbsp;which isn't bad for an engine that still has the original piston rings and valve train. Seven years ago. the car was stripped of all trim. interior. paint. sound deadening material and undercoating for a thorough metal restoration performed by European craftsmen that included work to the entire underside. nbsp;rockers. jacking points and lower body panels. The doors. hood. trunk lid. windshield and dash were removed to prep the car before painting it in a down draft booth as close as possible to the original light gray metallic using modern. first class Glasurit automotive finishes. The final result is a rust free. structurally sound Round Tail Spider with a showquality paint. The underside was left in epoxy primer because I wanted to use POR-15 silver top coat there. This Alfa has been stored under a good quality car cover in a dry. heated garage ever since it got back from the body shop. The paint is still beautiful without any bubbling. nbsp;cracking or peeling. The dash assembly. bumpers. grill. most exterior lights and the door handles were retrofit recently. New front suspension spring pans and differential limiting were installed earlier. The front a-arms. real trailing arms. and the drive shafts were media blasted. nbsp;painted and rebuilt. The heater's box metal pieces. headlight buckets. clutch/brake pedal assembly and soft top frame were also media blasted and painted. The only parts missing are the tool kit. the interior rubber mats. the carpeting for the transmission tunnel. the soft top. the metal shields under the car for the exhaust and clutch/brake master cylinders. the three-piece exhaust system (front. middle and rear). the metal brake lines to the proportioning valve and right rear caliper. and thebattery. Most of the difficulty work has already been done. but the car needs mechanical. nbsp;hydraulic. and suspension work along with a new soft top. carpeting and upholstery. As such. it is ideal for anyone interested in an Alfa Romeo Boat Tail Spider project that does not require welding. nbsp;body work and paint. The following new parts that need to be installed are included: - Windshield made in England- Weather stripping for the windshield. doors and trunk lid. - NOS rear left bumper with over rider- Lollipop reflectors for the rear bumpers- Scuttle drain hoses with grommetsPlease note that this car is sold with a certification of sale because NY State does not issue titles for 1972 or older vehicles. The car doe NOT have any warranty. Inspections are encouraged before any bidding; while pictures my speak thousandsof words. there is no substitute to having a car evaluated by an expert.
