Being offered for sale is this rare and beautifully restored Numbers Matching 1961 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint. This wonderful example has been restored with its original color, Gardenia White with Blue and White interior. The ground up restoration was completed while staying true to the nuances that make it a desirable American Market car. Built in Milan Italy and designed by the famed Franco Scaglione at the Bertone design house. It was imported to US market early in its life. Everything from the chrome to the paint, engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, interior, trunk and undercarriage are in excellent condition. Every component has been expertly gone through. This car comes with the original Alfa Romeo tool roll and correct jack strapped in its original location in the trunk. Extensive documentation is included from previous owners dating back to 1975 including registration cards. The original Giulietta Instruction Book and full factory spare parts catalog will sell with this car. Mileage listed may or may notbeaccurate.

Some of the upgrades to the original car were completed to enhance the driving experience. Weber downdraft carburetor has replaced the original Solex Carburetor unit. An original Solex will be included with the car but not original to this car. Front Drum brakes have been upgraded to large single piston disc brakes. Engine was taken apart and completely rebuilt using 3.033 bore pistons with 1.227 compression height, a slight increase from the original 8.5:1 compression ratio and 79 bhp.

This example is clean, honest and very well sorted. Absolutely no rust car which is hard to come by on these Alfa Romeo 101 bodies and evident by the superbly clean and detailed undercarriage. The overall condition of the restoration is not being advertised as a #1 or concours condition, but an extremely nice ground up restoration. A solid #2 example in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition.

Cosmetics – Repainted in correct Gardenia White with PPG base/clear. The paint shows very well with no dents dings or scratches and has great depth and shine. The original sheet metal has excellent panel alignment. Chrome has been refinished. Rubber weather stripping and seals are new. Trunk is detailed in correct black finish and has correct original spare tire. All original glass is in very good condition without any cracks. Freshly painted wheels on new BFGoodrich tires. Under carriage has been detailed and is very clean, no drips. Original style yellow decals dress the engine bay with original VDO washer bag. All data plates and badging are correct to this car. Carillo red tail lenses and standard chrome license plate frame.

Interior – Beautifully restored blue and white vinyl interior with blue wool carpeting and floor mats. Very nice original headliner with working courtesy lights. Gauges are in great condition and all function correctly. The correct rare Fiat AM radio is intact but does have the right knob end missing. Dash pad is excellent as is the interior paint and chrome. A shifter boot with matching blue vinyl was custom made but can easily be removed for originality as well as the aftermarket shift knob.

Drivetrain – Extremely well sorted engine and transmission. The clutch engagement is silky smooth and runs flawlessly without any issues through all the gears. Weber carburetor is well tuned and the engine starts without effort every time even when cold. Very smooth idle and strong engine, it revs quickly without hesitation. An original period correct Solex carburetor is included with the sale.

Suspension and Brakes – New suspension and brakes all around. Upgrades to the brakes include front disc with red calipers. Suspension and brakes are in excellent working order.

Accessories – All books, tools, jack, spare, and previous owner receipts are included with the car. This includes original Alfa Romeo Tool Roll with all the correct hard to find branded open end wrenches, hammers, feeler gauge, pliers, pick, and more. Original period correct jack and tool roll in trunk. The large Giulietta 1300 Series Parts Catalog and original Instruction Owners Manual included.

Documentation – Some of the documentation includes but is not limited to; engine records from the rebuild with piston specs, owner registration dating back to 1975 from Fairfax,Virginia, all Alfa suppliers including, Besic Motorsports, Centerline Products, and International. Original Giulietta owners manual.
