Description of 1979 Alfa Romeo Other |
The Gorgeous silver exterior was totally professionally repaired with new metal only. no filler. flawless gap from a perfectionist body worker. painted the original Argento silver this took 4 months to complete at nearly $12. 50 on a Never Snow or rain driven Minnesota one owner car. A vehicle that was very thoughtfully rustproofed Polycoated when new. which is still visible spray on underside as if it was done last year. All glass and weather stripping was removed. as was the unsightly side non-factory & so un-standard bump strips that were added for some reason to all Sport Sedans as they were unloaded in the USA. All those drill holes for the side bump strip clips were metal filled and painstakingly finished to be as just as they originally were when they left Italy. See photos of solid. never driven in winter nor in rain. all checks of the floor has came as if it was a 13. 72 mi car & as rock solid as new. The Vin number is as listed please; see photo for silly shoppers who think a car fax is applicable to a 35 yr old Italian car? LOL1 The original interior. while in pristine condition. was grey corduroy seating. faux wood trim and dirt brown vinyl inserts was not to what I envisioned for this car. With my design following stock seating lines. the cord was replaced with full Sabbia tan leather. matching perforated inserts on seats. head-rests and door sections was a way to elevate it this car way beyond a mere complete stock survivor Sport Sedan and more as a valuable classic. as I felt the Giorgetto Giugiaro design respectfully deserves. All the interior was artfully done by LA Trim custom upholstery. including ingeniously rebuilding the sun visors and original headliner. and their idea for functional map pocket on the backs of the front seats. perf'd armrests. all tastefully finished with contrasting dark Grey piping. The original Campagnolo alloy wheels were media blasted when the body was to a reconditioned like new finish. fitted with new P4 Pirelli. they have only traveled the 480 miles since the 5 years I've owned the sharp looking sedan. Asking $18. 499 or best offer above reserve so I can move onto my next Alfa project to create another survivor Alfa classic. Most of the photos were from recent West Mich Alfa Romeo Owners Beach-Grill Out on the shores of Lk. Michigan. other pictures at the Collector Cars storage home of the car where it has spent 11-12 months these past 4 years. a safe space shared with many other sports classics. The last image is the Sport Sedan as shown at this past July 2014 National AROC-USA Meet Concours - Italian Happening held this year at The Inn at St. John's. Plymouth. Michigan. |
