Description of 1977 Alfa Romeo Spider 5-SPEED. ALLOYS. 2.0 LITER FUEL INJECTION. |
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very solid and decent Alfa Romeo 2nd Generation Spyder in a refreshing and crisp color scheme, last on the road almost 18 years ago. Currently these cars are very good value when compared to the earlier boat-tail models, and are surely to be the next Alfa model on the move. This nice, complete running car could almost be enjoyed as is (with some minor mechanical fixes), or could use some easy cosmetic improvements in the future to make it a very nice car. The body on this car is very good showing no rust or accidents. The paintwork appears to be mostly original and is older/faded/thin. The car's underside looks entirely solid except for some minor corrosion around the rubber plug drain holes in the floors, an easy fix. The car's glass and bright-work is in good shape. The car's interior trim is average. The seats appear decent. The RH door panel has been removed and is weathered. Carpets look OK. There is a mint original vinyl top boot. The soft top may actually look good after a good strong clean, in black cloth, but needs a rear window. The car also includes a snug fitting, period Parrish hard top needing some restoration. Mechanically, the engine starts easily and sounds very healthy. It's running off a remote fuel supply, so the fuel delivery system needs attention. The engine oil is clean and up to the mark- a great sign! The engine compartment looks very original. We haven't tried the brakes or clutch hydraulics, but I'm sure they're do for a service anyways. It wouldn't take much to get this back on the road again after its hibernation... Overall, a pretty original, nice Alfa Romeo for easy improvement with good investment potential. I'm sure any smart money spent on this car would be a good investment going forward. Please look at all pictures and call or email with any questions. We will assist in shipping worldwide.
