Description of 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider

1986 Alfa Spider with two liter four cylinder twin overhead cam engine. 5 speed manual transmission. Red body with black top and interior. Engine rebuilt with new pistons. cylinder liners. oil pump. valves. guides. springs. timing chains. clutch. hoses (water & fuel). engine transmission mounts. starter. and rebuilt alternator. The engine was balanced to ensure smooth running. The fuel pump with filter and exhaust system has also been replaced. The engine runs strong and cranks right up cold or hot. The transmission shifts well even when downshifting into second gear there is no problem doing so. You don't need to double clutch at all to shift smoothly. A beautiful new cloth convertible top was recently installed giving the car a clear back window and weather tight interior. It was replaced with a cloth sunfast type top that looks sharp and fits well. The original cracked dash was replaced with one from International Auto. It was carefully installed to ensure there were no problems with everything functioning as expected. Even the heater water valve was replaced to eliminate any possible problems. The air conditioner was converted to the new R134 with new hoses. compressor. and receiver dryer. It works well but not as strong as needed for the southern heat and humidity but should be sufficient for a northern climate. A four speaker JVC stereo system with HD AM/FM radio with CD. I'm the third owner of this car that originally came from the Tampa/Clearwater area and has spent the rest of its garage kept years in SC. The body is rust free . The paint is not perfect with some fading but shines up well. There are two small dents on the right side the rest of the body is in good condition. The speedometer shows about 106K miles but the engine has less than 15K miles since the rebuild by the previous owner. All receipts are included to show items replaced and work done on the car. This car will start first time and idles perfect. It is a great car that has had a lot of parts replaced with attention to detail and correctness . this car can easily be a daily driver. Since my ownership I have replaced the drive shaft center bearing. brake pads. radiator fans and other odds and ends. Due to the cars excellent mechanical condition I have spent my time on dressing it up with mini-lite silver wheels with new tires. wooden steering and shifter knob . carpet coloring. new interior side panels. On the list of needs would be the drivers window regulator replacement (getting weak still works) and if your ready a fix on the two dents and new paint job.
