Description of 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV --

NO RESERVE!!!PLEASE READ THIS THOROUGHLY BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS. YOU WILL FIND MOST ANSWERS IN THE PHOTOS OR HERE! IF YOU ASK QUESTIONS THAT ARE ANSWERED IN THE DESCRIPTION WE WILL ASSUME THAT YOU ARE NOT SERIOUS ENOUGH TO READ THIS. PLEASE, NO DREAMERS - IF YOU AREN'T GOING TO BID WE CAN'T HELP YOU.Actual VIN - AR3022794. This lovely 1973 Alfa Romeo GTV is a true find. Fully documented from new. It is not a restored car, but rather one... that has been lovingly maintained. In the last 10,000 miles or so it has been subjected to a comprehensive engine/drivetrain overhaul by a well respected specialty shop. The stock pistons were replaced with 10.5-1 J E Racing pistons, lightweight H beam connecting rods were fitted, along with new 11 mm lift 245 degree duration cams with new tappets, German high strength timing chains, 40 mm exhaust and 42 mm intake valves, Total Seal rings, HD valve springs, lightened aluminum flywheel, Sachs performance clutch, ceramic coated headers, and much more. The Spica fuel injection has been replaced with a Euro intake with twin DCOE 45 Weber carburetors and the ultra rare Euro airbox. The engine is supposedly good for 7000rpm although we haven't explored that area... At the same time, the transmission was rebuilt - new synchros, seals shift fork, clutch cylinders, and more. New brake pads and rotors were fitted with rebuilt calipers along with Centerline performance springs, yellow Koni shocks, new coolant tank and hoses, rebuilt alternator, distributor, and everything else you could imagine. The staggering total for the work was $39,046.26 with receipts! The paint and body are generally good. There are a couple of small issues that could be addressed, but the overall impression is positive. The interior is very good - the seats appear as new, the headliner has been replaced although there is a little staining. The carpets are good except for in the driver's side which is somewhat worn. There are a couple of dash cracks. The wood dash is very nice with the exception of the small piece behind the shifter which is faded. The steering wheel is nice, all gauges work, although the fuel gauge should not be relied upon. Later model 3 point retractor seat belts have been fitted. There is a modern stereo, nice Panasport Racing wheels with new tires, and period Cibie driving lamps complete the package. The vulnerable stainless steel bumpers are very nice, as is the rest of the stainless and chrome trim. Of course, the indicated mileage is not original. This is a great opportunity to acquire a classic GTV with all the "go fast" stuff already in place and sorted. The car comes with the rare original owner's manual, service booklet, and warranty card, plus about 3 inches of receipts. Each of it's owners has maintained the car and documented the work. It is truly rare to see a 45 year old car with the level of paperwork this car has. Of course, this car is almost 50 years old, and it is not perfect. We are offering the car on a "No Reserve" basis, so please understand that your bid may win you this car. Please don't hesitate to call with any questions.
