Description of 1963 Alfa Romeo Other

This vehicle came to me circa 2000 from Arizona after a very nice bare metal restoration. It has been garaged ever since. The paint is still gorgeous. although there is some bubbling on and around the right door as shown in the pics. There is a small dent in the chrome spear under the door. also pictured. The underside is solid. with no rust. However. the undercoating is peeling in spots. as shown in the pics. particularly under the right floor pan. The odometer reads 8604. But that is irrelevant as I do not know the history of the car before I got it. The engine is a 1600 with dual Weber carbs. Some have questioned whether it is original or not. I have no reason to question its originality as 1963 was a transition year for Alfa and I have seen conflicting literature regarding when they switched from the single Solex to the dual Webers in 1963 or 1965. In 2001 I replaced the shocks with Konis. installed new front springs. rebuilt the brakes and wheel cylinders. installed a Nardi steering wheel. installed an NOS radio block off plate and a Sony AF/FM CD player with Boston speakers and put in a new headliner. In 2003 the gas tank was removed and cleaned and the bumpers rechromed. Fuel lines were cleaned and repaired in Sep 2005 and in Nov 2012 the carbs were cleaned and rebuilt and a new choke cable and new radiator were installed. Car fires up easily and runs well. With the exception of the interior courtesy lights. all the lights work. The wipers work. Tach and temp gauges work. Speedo and oil pressure do not. There is plenty of tread on the tires (Kumho 771 radials) but they should be replaced due to age. Also. the supports for the back of the driver’s seat are not functional so I fabricated a couple pieces of wood to support the seat back as shown in the pic. It works well. Dash cover over the gauge cluster has separated as shown in the pic. Nice leather shift knob. floor mats. new red. non-OEM seat belts. passenger side Talbot style rear view mirror. chrome exhaust extension and fire extinguisher. New trunk mat and spare tire cover. Vehicle is in Decatur GA and available for inspection effective Tuesday. March 31.
