Description of 1965 Alfa Romeo Spider

This is a 1965 ALFA ROMEO SPIDER NORMALE restoration project! If you look at the pictures you will see dents in the car. These dents were caused by the junk yard that picked up the car from the former owner's back yard where the car sat for years. It was being discarded by the owners widow who gave it to the junk yard. I bought it before it was about to be crushed. That was several years ago and I have just been too busy to work on it, and I don't have the money to restore it. There is rust in the floor boards and the trunk area. The good news is, IT IS ALL THERE. Many of the small important parts are there and most are in excellent condition for restoration. Here is a list of what needs to be done other than the obvious. The top bows will need to be reconditioned as they are bent. Both fixed vent glass windows were shattered but I included one that can be copied by a glass shop for a few dollars. There is a NEW WINDSHIELD included with this car.The windshield uprights are bent and the right side one broke off. I have included good ones with the car. There is very little missing if anything. It has 4 wheels that are correct. The brake pads (front) and the rear brake shoes are in the trunk. I took them off so the car is easier to push. This car is original with it's ORIGINAL ENGINE. The mileage cannot be verified, however the throttle peddle condition would suggest that this car actually has only 80, 59 miles. The title is listing the car as a 1966. It is a 1600 101.23 and 1965 was the last year they were built. However, in the 1960's it was not uncommon for cars imported to the US to arrive at the dealership in early 1966 and when sold they were titled as the year they were sold. THIS IS A 1965 CAR sold as a 1966.Good luck and good bidding.....She need TLC and a new home.

Someone asked about the head having 'ears' on the front and therefor the head is too new for this car. I'm not sure about that as this is near the end of the run of 101 spiders. I will include a non ear head and valve cover. I will also include the complete correct air filter housing and a Solex carburetor so this car can be a correct show car if you wish.

I just added 4 pictures of the underside of the car. I am amazed at how little rust there is. Both floors have large holes from rust. The trunk also has rust holes, least one large one. That's it, the rest of the car is solid. All four jack mounts are in excellent condition as is the 'frame'. The car doesn't actually have a frame as it is a unibody. The usual rust just is not there. There is one bent trailing arm. The exhaust is a 'Super Sprint' and it actually looks good. This car is perfect for a restoration. You should all rush to the 'Buy it now' button.
