Description of 1965 AMC Other |
Feast your eyes on this 1965 Rambler Classic convertible! This was a solid rust free Colorado car but the AMC 327 V8 and transmission were a bit tired. We repainted the body Aqua metallic and the paint came out beautiful. The interior was excellent, suspect itwas likely reupholstered asColorado sun is a bit tough on interiors. However, herust free body is excellentas we find in dry climates. A new top was added but it just needed a little more get up and go. So we took a low mileage Mopar 360 V8. The original transmission had a torque tube, o we took it out and switched to an open driveshaft with ladder bar trailing arms and rear coils. The front end was tight so we left it stock. We had to do a custom exhaust but the car came out excellent. To our surprise it went from a family cruiser to just plain fast, he updated drive train makes this car pretty darn quick! You won't get left at a stoplight, he car was a fairly light unitized body and it may surprise you. Here are additional photos: eclecticlassics.com/home-2/finished-cars/1965-rambler-convertible/and yes, ou get the guitar painted the body color to match! Everyone loves an old convertible, ut this car offers a lot at a budget price. You won't see many ramblers and this model has a very nice look. For the Mopar fan, he car looks a lot better than a mid 60's Chrysler and you won't have the same SB chevy- you get a very cool Moparmotor dressed up with some chrome and much improved handling. The car is fast a stable, ice looking and unique. Best of all it's a solid clean body and an affordable price. You won't be afraid to drive it but it's clean enough that it will show well. The car is ready to roll and you could drive it home from Denver. It is available in the Denver area to drive and inspect and I can also store the car for a buyer that wanted to wait for winter to pass. About me- I specialize in rust free western vintage cars, rimarily convertibles. I am a 100% seller and have sold a lot of cars on Ebay. I do this as a hobby and have a small but very capable shop. I prefer to have you test drive but all of my buyers (primarily back east) are stunned to see how solid a car can be from a dry climate. I have a full satisfaction policy- If you feel the car is misrepresented I'll gladly let you back out with a deposit refund. I am open to some trades, f you have an interesting project you cant finish this might get you cruising sooner. I do not accept low rated bidders, will just block them but do contact me through Ebay for questions, est drive or other inquiries. I have sold many cars to Canada but you must pick the car up in Colorado. I can deliver in Colorado and possibly beyond but plan on picking the car up in Denver. On Jan-09-16 at 08:44:26 PST, eller added the following information: A few updates. My buy it now didn't show but I set it at 16K. The weather has been butt aching in Colorado so its been difficult to get a good photo shoot. I do have lots of detail photos of the build and the undercarriage is now detailed. Some odd reason I'm getting an error when I try to answer questions. The drive train swap on a rambler is very technical on a Rambler because the car is a unitized body and a torque tube. Just the drive train swap alone would cost more than my buy it now. The tranny is rebuilt and the motor is very strong roughly 60K miles. It is the 3 speed automatic. The tires are new Michelins and we stayed with the original 14" rims which are painted to match the body. The car is pretty much stock (other than the drive train) as upgrades like Stereos, ims etc. are for the buyer to decide. The new paint is matched to the original color but appears darker in the sun as its much more brilliant and has a better metallic than the original paint. This is the first repaint of the car and it required very little bodywork, ou can see the reflection. We do a lot of restorations of 50's convertibles so this car was a simple build but most home shops could not handle the drive train swap on a unitized body. We like to upgrade drive trainsbut avoid customizing the body. This car is set up perfect as all the hard stuff is done, t runs great and its a blank slate for further customizing to your taste. This is a Uniqueearly60's muscle car at a bargain price! |
