Description of 1974 AMC AMX |
Up for auction is a 1974 American Motors Javelin AMX. If you are looking for acompetitively priced and stunning muscle car from the 70's - here is a real beauty! This car is in remarkably better shape than most of this classic vintage, which are becoming more and more in demand. The car performs amazingly well; it starts up reliably, runs smoothly and stops on a dime.Theengine does notsmoke, knock or ping. The car has been well maintained with regular oil changes. It has new plug wires, spark plugs, radiator, shock absorbers, a recent tune up, fuel pump, battery, and heater / radiator hoses.Essentially, whatever maintenance was required was done. The original color was green. It was repainted white but it still retains its original 70’s green interior. The 14” Rally wheels are stock and have good tires on them. The bottom of the car was undercoated and that has protected the metal quite well from water and age.The car originated in the midwest yet the floor pans and frame rails are solid.I know of only one spot on the passenger floor pan that has a hole in it and there is a spot on the rear quarter extension housing that shows some paint bubbling as shown in a pic. There are some minor rust spots on the back side of the rocker panels. These minor areas are easily repairable, if desired, or the car can be driven and shown without being noticed.TheV-8 304 stock motor runs well and has good power. The upholstery looks very sharp and although the driver’s seat does have some seams opening from age, it presents itself very well. A new shifter handle and dome light are not installed but will be included with the car. This is an affordable, stylish and iconic car from the 70's, and one that never fails to turn heads and attract attention. The rare Coke-bottle styling is so recognizable to car buffs. All lights work and the car is a dependable daily driver. The original radio does not work. The car has 128K original and gentle miles on it - never hotrodded or abused. There issome paint damage to both rear quarters where something inside the trunk slid and hit the body, but hard to see from even ten feet away. The car has dual exhaust with glass paks sothe car has a very deep throated resonance. I have an open and clear title. The buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping.Thesale is final and no returns are accepted. $500 is due within three days and the total amount is due by cashiers check or cash in person within seven days.
