Description of 1969 AMC AMX --

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1969 AMC AMX for your consideration. The current owner of this vehicle has owned it for the last 13 of its 49 years. He purchased the vehicle from an 81-year-old woman who bought it in California as a birthday present for herself when she was in her 40's. Since the 90's it has been a show car and has won many trophies and awards including a Silver Award at the AMC National... Convention in 2010. Any parts that have been replaced were changed with new old stock or remanufactured parts. Features include; 390ci V8 4bbl, frost white with red interior, Go Package (power front disc brakes, heavy duty sway bars, twin grip differential, dual exhaust, heavy-duty fan shroud, 7-blade flex fan and cooling package, rally wheels with stripes, red go stripe), automatic transmission, power steering, factory air conditioning (converted to R134), tilt wheel, AM radio, clock, light package and much more. The owner has many documents and receipts on this AMX that will come with the vehicle. Please call or email us today for more information. The AMC AMX is a two-seat GT-style sports car that was produced by American Motors Corporation for the 1968 through 1970 model years. The AMX was also classified as a muscle car, but "unique among other American cars at the time due to its short wheelbase". The AMX was also the only American-built steel-bodied two-seater of its time, the first since the 1955-1957 Ford Thunderbird. To a degree, the AMX was a competitor with America's only other two-seater of the era, the Chevrolet Corvette for substantially less money. With a one-inch (2.5 cm) shorter wheelbase than Chevrolet's two-seater, the AMX was often seen by the press as a "Corvette competitor".
