Description of 1966 AMC Other Classic 770

This 1966 AMC Rambler Classic 770 represents a time capsule-like representation of a vehicle we already rarely see anymore. So if you're a collector of highly original cars, you're going to want to dig in for the full story, great paperwork, and factory details of this very special sedan.
This was the final year for the Rambler Classic model and the 770 was the top spec trim. So it's the right kind of car for an enthusiast to collect... and as far as we can tell, that's exactly who the first owner was. The story we're told on this is Mr. Erickson bought this new and babied it for decades. He even started showing it in the 1980s. When he passed, his son took over the car and kept it well-maintained until around 2002. The consignor purchased this Rambler Classic not too long after that. He could really see it was kept as a family heirloom. It even came with everything from the laminated window sticker, to a hand-written maintenance log by Mr. Erickson. The correct Balboa Aqua paint has the look of original, right down to the classic lacquer finish. The upright styling of the 1960s is seen so well on this sedan with wide and imposing front end and the exceptional condition of the wraparound chrome bumper. The straight sheetmetal looks even more impressive with the straight and complete full-length trim. And this one really looks complete, right down to the intricate taillights and Rambler factory wheel covers
The vintage presentation continues inside. The slightly darker aqua of the interior looks great against the exterior color. Plus, the the turquoise cloth inserts of the seats adds to the intricate style and the full tropical sea impression that this car gives. You'll be impressed with the level of originality and quality on the carpeting, door panels, package tray, and even the trunk. And we absolutely love the dash. It has that bright and clean presentation that takes you back to the days of family vacations taking long stretches down two-lane roads. More than just nostalgia, all the right details work, including the AM radio and heat/defrost sliders. Even the steering wheel feels like it has been preserved for over half a century.
When you lift the hood, the long red block shows off the unmistakable look of a classic 232 cubic-inch straight-six. These smooth inline motors were always part of our motoring heritage in the 1960s, and so it's great to see one that show the right signs of originality. Plus, the column-shifted three-speed manual transmission gives you a vintage feel and full control. This motor has been maintained and operated by the consignor, and that means it keeps a road trip ready attitude. So while the low odometer is believed to reflect the car's full actual mileage, we know you won't be able to resist adding to it. After all, that's the fun of strong-driving rolling time capsule.
Because you'll want to tell this Rambler's full story, it also comes with terrific paperwork. This includes the original window sticker, dealer invoice, warranty card, warranty info, owner's manual, the four maintenance log books by Mr. Erickson, and more recent maintenance records. This is the outstandingly original and preserved 1960s AMC that you know is going to get a ton of attention. So if you've been looking for a time capsule, it's time to open up this Rambler Classic.
