Offered here is a very rare find...Nice 1964 Rambler American 440 convertible project that has had an entire 290 V8 driveline taken out of a top of the line Rambler American, a 1967 Rogue. (The install/upgrade includes the V8 front sway bar, V8 front brakes, V8 front springs, V8 crossmember, V8 radiator and V8 AMC 20 rearend w/3.15 twin grip-amc's version of a posi rear)...V8s in Rambler Americans are pretty rare to begin with and were never offered from the factory until 1966, so finding this running gear in a 1964 and a convertible to boot is a real hoot! This is the same basic platform as the famed 390 HURST SC/RAMBLER! but in earlier convertible fashion (have AMC 390s and 401s available for additional cost if desired),...This car is pretty complete and pretty cool for sure...She starts up pretty easy and runs pretty nice...I'm sure it has been off the road for a number of years but it does have brakes and will drive although the seats are not currently bolted in due to some floor rust...It does have some rust in the qtrs but the rest of the car is pretty solid and pretty nice overall for being almost 60 years old! (amazing how time flies),...the convertible box frame structure and front and rear subframes both appear nice as well...It has an older repaint and a homemade "vinyl or rubber" convertible top material...I really like the simple lines and nice styling of the earlier 64-65 Americans, the 64 has some similarities to the Chrysler Turbine in the front, probably just that era! I have collected a bunch of parts that will be offered to buyer for additional costs and at 1st right of refusal on purchase including a nice set of AMC "starfish" aluminum mags, NOS rear quarter panel, NOS grille, NOS headlight surrounds (both 64 style and 65 style), NOS taillight lense or lenses and probably some more odds and ends I'm forgetting about...IMO, Its a sweet project!!...lack of time and storage space makes me offer this for sale...I'm happy to get any additional pics anyone needs or answer any questions...Sold as is condition. Clean title. Local inspection welcome. Please ask any/all questions PRIOR to bidding. Thank you. Dan
