FIRST THINGS FIRST: If you feel like you’re experiencing Deja Vu: I’m relisting after local buyer financing fell through AND MORE IMPORTANTLY. AFTER I had the Javelin looked over and did some more research on it. This is the most UP-TO-DATE information with NEW & CURRENT photos taken March 28. 2015. Having said that: JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING DRIVING!!! Beautifully restored 1973 AMC Javelin AMX. Vineyard Burgundy 2 DR hardtop coupe with a horseshoe automatic floor shift. Factory P code 360 cu in (5. 9 l) V8 245 hp (183 kw) 4bbl completely rebuilt engine with only a little over 500 miles. Odometer shows 80. 17. Has Cowl Induction Air Cleaner. Holley Carb and Aluminum Intake. Dual Exhaust. Power Steering. Front Power Disc Brakes. Posi-traction Rear. “Go” Package. Front and rear spoilers. 15” tires. Barn find that has been in my late husbands’ family since the late 1980’s and restored with great love and painstaking care. Garaged and covered 99% of the time. Completely new paint job done about 6 years ago. still shiny and beautiful with only tiny cosmetic flaws. Interior has been redone and the black vinyl upholstery is in great shape. All chrome and trim is excellent. except the back bumper which has some pitting from surface rust being removed (there’s a close-up picture). Radio needs an antenna. Tach and Clock do not work. Has aftermarket gauges for oil gauge and temp. Also-I’m not sure if these are selling points-but it has a new fuel pump. and just had an oil change. Javelin starts right up. drives smoothly. and turns tight! All in all. a sweet restoration. Perfect for weekend drives and perhaps your local car show? The Javelin was purchased from the original owner with just a Bill of Sale and is currently registered in Connecticut with a clean VIN. There is NO TITLE because CT did not title cars prior to 1980. The car will be sold with a CT Registration and a CT Bill of Sale/Supplemental Assignment of Ownership which most states accept. but please check with your individual state before bidding. TERMS OF SALE / DISCLAIMER I have represented the Javelin to the best of my ability and knowledge. and I have learned a great deal about Javelins in the process (thank you Ross. Tony. and Michael). HOWEVER. except for the above description. and the following facts: I think it’s a very “manly” and cool color and design. it goes balls-out fast and sounds like a muscle car. it’s extremely cool to drive. to be seen in and to show off. there’s no leaks. you can look up a classic car’s value on NADA and Haggerty’s (thank you to the local guy who offered me $12K cash to immediately come pick it up within the hour that inadvertently lead me to that discovery). I will greatly miss it. and I would really love to see a die-hard Javelin AMX fan end up with it - sorry. I’m going off on a tangent - I don’t know anything more specific about the inner workings of the car. From personal experience and feedback I’ve gotten from those who have seen and driven it. you can pretty much get in it and have quite the enjoyable drive.
