Description of 1973 AMC Javelin

A 1973 AMC Javelin V8 car in rugged shape but already restored to somewhat running condition. Originally bought to restore for myself but now my employment situation has changed so i have to sell it.Engine is in running condition not sure what the original car came with but the previous seller gave me a running 360 ci V8 with a 727 torqueflite transmission which i have installed and got running in this car. Had to get many new parts for it like starter starter solenoid battery all new water hoses vacuum hoses heater hoses ignition capacitor module new hardware bolts and nuts new trans and oil dipstick etc. I rebuilt the carburetor because first time i started the engine there was gas leaking out of the carburetor gaskets. Engine sounds smooth and powerful but there is currently a vacuum leak or misadjusted throttle plate position issue you'd have to look at. the engine revs up to 3-4k rpm right after it starts which usually indicates too much air coming through the carburetor. new fluids for engine oil transmission fluid and differential fluid. Only reason the car cannot drive now is because the engine doesn't settle down to idle and the brakes need to be pumped and the driveshaft cleaned and installed. it is HIGHLY recommended the car brakes be converted to power discs before driving on highway! i don't know what engineers installed MANUAL 4 wheel DRUM brakes on a 285hp V8 car!!The body is in rugged shape but workable. no major accidents or irreparable dents. all removable panels like doors fenders etc. are in good shape no rust through just need sanding and repaint and some work. The unibody has MAJOR rust through in quarter panels trunk floor driver and passenger floors. I have new sheet metal skin for both sides of rear quarter panels and one floor panel included with this sale. driver side window pops out of the rail and needs a new plastic retainer and some greasing.otherwise car is original and has all original parts so you don't have to hunt for parts too much. what i noticed missing: power steering pump and brackets front hood trim all side markers mirrors and windshield wiper motor. The windshield wiper arms are not installed but i have them included with the sale.Please be prepared to tow the car on a flatbed that is also able to winch it up onto the trailer/flatbed. it cannot be put in drive right now to drive onto a trailer.AIR FILTER shown in the engine bay picture is NOT INCLUDED. I was trying to check for hood clearance and will be returning this filter. i had purchased a drop base type air filter but now i see that a standard 3" tall 14" diameter filter fits with a flat base. air filter element not included (there is an old 14" filter housing though).I hope i covered everything. feel free to contact me with any questions.
