Description of 1973 AMC AMX AMX

1973 AMC Javelin AMX 360 V-8 727 Auto with Reverse Manual Valve Body shift very firm shift kit.  4.11 gears with posi and traction bars  Motor is rebuilt .30 over and very high compression a very hot Lunati cam with a very lumpy idle.  Hedman full length headers finished with 2.75" exhaust into Flowmaster 10 series with dumps in front of the axle--it sounds amazing!! Holley 750 double pumper carb (no choke) Carter High Flow Fuel Pump edelbrock intake Mallory ignition and distributor Roller rockers Stock heads I believe but I was told they have had some work done.  By driving and hearing it I believe it.  This car is wicked quick and with the reverse manual valve body and 4.11 gears its a handful on the street!!  Engine has the original date coded Blackstone radiator with the polished top.  Chrome hood hinges chrome fender supports.  Edelbrock chrome valve covers and air cleaner.  Heater core is bypassed currently.  In the interior the front seats are ripped but not terrible although the rear seats are in great shape.  Headliner is fantastic and all the interior plastic is in great shape including the AMX prism pattern.  Aftermarket tachometer is not accurate factory oil pressure gauge doesn't work but oil pressure gauge below the dash registers correct pressure.  There is a a Kenwood Stereo and equalizer and speakers but can't really hear it over the car.  The Javelin drives well but has a tight steering box when turning the wheel when not moving.  Tires are 245/60/14 all around Goodyear Eagle and Cragar Wheels in great shape with no rust or pitting.   Body: as pictured a few spots in the rear quarters.  The top of the front fender has a little bit of bubbling starting.  Paint is very good shape as is the gold t-stripe.  Trunk has no rust at all underneath the car is rust free.  Hood is a cowl induction but the fiberglass skin seam to the metal frame is starting to come loose at the corner.  Passenger mirror is in the trunk needs a new gasket.   I love this car and had big plans for it but I have come to realize I can't keep them all!  I need to downsize the number of vehicles I have.  This AMX doesn't need much work at all and is a great piece as is.  I love the sound and power of this car and will hate to see it go.  There has been a lot of money put into this car.  I've owned for four years now call me with any questions or to see more pictures or video of it running.  (574) 952-8934
