Description of 1969 Aston Martin DBS

1969 Aston Martin DBS Coupe --Fiesta Red with Natural leather interior and Tan carpeting, 34,000 original miles, 5-speed ZF transmission, 2-owners from new, Aston Martin New York Factory Show Car, Factory options included: Air conditioning, Power-assisted steering, Bosch New Yorker radio, Two rear lap belts and Two headrests. Originally delivered to Aston Martin Sales, Inc., the factory showroom on 52nd Street in New York City, this DBS was used as the Aston Martin New York Factory Show Car. It was purchased directly from Aston’s show stand by Mr. Jean Flagler Matthews a New York City resident. It remained in New York for many years. Mr. Matthew’s brother had always wanted to purchase the DBS from his brother, but he would have nothing of it until one day and on his brother’s birthday, he received a set of keys in the mail and a note that stated more to come. The DBS was relocated to Delray Beach, Florida where is was treated to a sympathetic restoration of a true 18,000 miles original example. While in the Matthews family and until its purchase by Autosport Designs, Inc. in 2005 the DBS was kept in pristine condition throughout. Purchased in January of 2005 by Autosport Designs, Inc., the DBS was collected from its Florida home by myself (Tom Papadopoulos) and used for several days by myself while attending that years Cavallino Ferrari Classic event where we were showing several Ferrari’s on the Concours lawn at Palm Beach’s The Breakers Hotel. At the end of the weekend's event, the DBS was loaded on the transporter with the Ferrari’s for transport north to Autosport Designs, Inc., Huntington, New York for service and its being offered for resale. Sold almost immediately to its most recent custodian, it has since been owned by an astute collector and having only been driven during excellent weather. During this time 14-year time period, it has been serviced when and where needed regardless of use as service records will attest. Currently, all systems are working as they should and as originally intended by the factory when delivered new. Available with complete documentation and ownership history from new, with factory books, Aston Martin build sheet, jack and restoration photos. This DBS is most certainly one of the finest examples of its type in existence.
