Description of 1964 Austin Healey 3000 MK III BJ8 |
Offered for sale is a striking, echanically fantastic, ntirely solid and numbers matching 1964 Austin Healey 3000 MK III BJ8 finished in beautiful Colorado Red over a black interior. The recipient of a rotisserie restoration in the 1990s by its Austin Healey Club member owner, t was subsequently toured and shown for the better part of two decades. While not participating in events, he car was always properly garaged and maintained to the highest standard, ts enthusiast owner always ensuring that its mechanicals were in top form. The original engine starts easily, dles consistently and pulls with grin-inducing force through each of the transmission's gears. Compression is strong and even, he overdrive is functional and the car drives brakes straight and true and ride. Spirited and visceral, t's an absolute joy to drive, s we experienced while photographing it in the Santa Barbara foothills. Despite the searing 90 degree temperatures, he car showed absolutely no indication of overheating. The Colorado Red finish is in excellent condition, xhibiting only the most insignificant of imperfections, one of which are big enough to appear in the pictures. The chrome, lass and rubber are all in good shape and the chassis and undercarriage are in excellent condition, ntirely straight, olid and free of harmful corrosion. The interior is gorgeous, he seats, arpets, ash and interior panels showing only the most negligible of wear and the wood dash inserts are in excellent condition.
