Concourse quality full photographic restoration no expense spared restoration of this beautiful Austin Healey. No reproduction parts. no kits everything done as per original. Over $100k invested in restoration. This car was delivered new to British Motor Cars San Francisco back in 64' and has spent its entire life in the bay area. Heritage Certificate. original manual & Jack. Correct Michelin XAS tires. If you are looking for the very best then look no further. I bought this car in 2008 on ebay for $26. 00 as a matching numbers Healey in good condition The car at the time had been repainted from its original color of Healey Blue to bright red. The body and chassis were in such good shape I decided to do a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration back to its original livery. Later that year I began to strip the car back down to its shell carefully numbering and preserving each and every nut. bolt and washer which was sent to EPS plating in Hayward for restoration. During the course of the restoration. it was decided to upgrade the suspension to bilstein shocks (which can be easily removed for the purist) this substantially increases the handling over the original specification. Each and every supplier was carefully picked to ensure the correctness of this concourse level full photographic restoration right down to the correct laquer paint purchased from a well known ppg paint shop in LA that has supplied many of the famous Healey restorers. No expense was spared during restoration of this beautiful Austin Healey. All chrome was plated by Sherms Custom plating in Sacramento (The choice of several well known Ferrari restorers) No reproduction parts or kits everything done as per original. The vinyl was sourced out of England to ensure correct blue color. The carpets were custom made using the originals in the best quality 100% wool wilton (one necessary upgrade from the poor quality original carpet). The entire interior. trunk and vinyl soft top was commissioned to Jim Silva from Surefit in San Leandro. CA as over the years has restored many Healeys to correct original spec. and his attention to detail is remarkable. Over has been $100k invested in this restoration. It’s the little details that set this car apart from the rest like the original markings on the bolts. the NOS Lucas headlamps. original chromework including grill. bumpers headlight rings. Original shifter. We decided to retain the original walnut dash and have a new one made in the finest quality walnut lighter in color than the ones you see in kit form as when the car was new. the wood was in fact lighter color but darkened over time. This car was delivered new to British Motor Cars San Francisco back in 64' and has spent its entire life in the bay area. When I bought the car it had a decal on the bumper “Foothills College 1972” which was carefully removed and put back once the rear bumper was fully restored. Heritage Certificate showing the car was delivered to BMC in 1964. original manual & Jack. Correct Michelin XAS tires. comes with brand new tonneau cover still in the plastic made from the same high quality original spec vinyl as per the hood. The car also retains its original matching numbers engine & gearbox with overdrive. Stainless Steel Exhaust and aluminum gas tank were the other 2 items upgraded not previously mentioned. The 1964 MKIII is considered the rarest of the MKIII’s as only 4. 74 were built that year and was the first year to have the wood dashboard yet retaining the discreet rear lights of the MKII.
