With a no expense spared nut and bolt ground up rotisserie restoration by noted Healey specialist Raymond Kennett, this Austin Healey in many respects is better than new. The car was refinished in its original color combination of Black with Red leather interior. The motor and transmission have been completely rebuilt and perform flawlessly. The upholstery was redone by Heritage Upholstery, using all top quality English leather. As with all of Kennetts restorations, there is tremendous attention to detail but this very rare two seat Healey had a bit more love and attention as it was in Kennet's personal collection of Healeys. Ray made a few additional tasteful and performance oriented upgrades. He preferred the tri-carb setup on the later BN7s, so he put a perfectly restored set of tri-carbs on the car, matching exactly the way Austin Healey did it a year later. Also installed was a later version center shift transmission, which provides a much better driving experience than the earlier side shift. Finally, it was fitted with a later model grill. All these things can be changed back to original at anytime. The car has been driven about 300 miles since the total restoration in order to do a complete sorting out of all systems and mechanicals. It runs and drives spectacularly. It is ready to be shown or driven for years to come by it's next lucky owner. In the spirit of the auction process, we do not disclose our reserve price.
