1954 Austin Healey 100 4 cylinder for sale, the car underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration over the past 5 years and is finished to a very high standard, appraised as concours condition, 1. Originality was preserved as much as possible. With matching numbers on body, engine and cockpit trim. Chassis & underbody: The Original frame could not be preserved anymore, a new frame was installed under the car, several body panels where exchanged or repaired where possible. The whole chassis/underbody has been epoxy coated after which is was painted in spruce green, the original colour of the car (also the colour of the car involved at the Le Mans Crash in 55). The colour was taken from the inside of a panel and matched accordingly.
have been taken off sandblasted, straightened, repaired, welded, epoxy coated. The aluminium panels have been repaired on cracks, holes and dents. The undersides have been painted before putting on the car. The brightwork was rechromed to an extra thick "outside" chrome coating. The original emblems retained,rechromed and repainted. The grille surround was chromed with the slats painted to match the original delivery. The car has its original glass for the brake and city lights, the front screen was replaced with a new item. Driving lights are new Lucas units. Paint: The whole car has then been assembled,and painted with a "paint system" which included epoxy, filler, zinc coating, green primer and spruce green paint. Engine: The whole engine has been rebuild. New cilinder liners with recess, instead of press fit so they can not sag. Pistons used are high compression Le Mans type pistons, a reprofiled camshaft (Le Mans) was fitted, with modified cam followers. Making it (apart from the airbox, and carbs)effectively an "M". The cylinder head has been rebuild and compression tested, suitable for unleaded. The rocker shaft was rebuild with new bushings. Crank has been ground down to .060 oversize for both the main and con rod bearings. The oil pump and timing chain received new gears and chain. The original flywheel has been retained to keep the torque and smooth idle. the drive plate renewed, a heavy duty clutch linkage is installed in favor of the old worn out linkage system. Gearbox and overdrive: Have been inspected and rebuild by a Healey specialist. Electrics: The wiring loom was completely replaced with an close to original type, the original buttons/knobs kept where possible. The original wiper motor, heater motor where re-used and refurbished. Interior: The interior has been matched as closely as possible to the original colours used. As well as the original materials used, apart from the tar paper which has been replaced by felt. The Original steering wheel is available, but was replaced by a wooden period correct Moto Lita. Tonneau cover, soft top, sidescreens have been made with the same green colour leathercloth. The gauges have been rebuild (oil and water temp gauge and fuel gauge, speedo and tacho meter have been cleaned and refreshed. The Boot features the spare wheel, as well as a owners manual (reprint) partial tool kit with tool roll, and side screens.
