Description of 1967 Austin Healey 3000 MK III

Produced from 1959 to 1967, the 3000 was a larger sports car produced by Austin-Healey. The bodywork was crafted in the Jensen Motors factory and the rest of the car was assembled at the BMC factory alongside MGs. The final Mark III variation was announced in 1964 and featured a uprated engine courtess of a high lift camshaft and a SU HD8 carburettor. The engine now produced 150hp and power assisted brakes were now standard, as was the upgraded dashboard. Production ended in 1967 with 17,712 Ma...rk III's having been produced. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this very nice Austin Healey for your consideration. Finished in a traditional shade of British Racing Green, this car screams British as much as a Routemaster bus does. The body of the car is very straight and solid, free of any dents. The paint is in decent shape and the owner claims it has an older repaint. Paint quality is generally good, with nice gloss, however there are a few small cracks and chips in the paint here and there. The chrome trim is plentiful and in very nice condition, with excellent shine. Chrome knock-off wire wheels are in great shape and add to the charm and are fitted with Kumho radial tires. Overall the car is very clean, but it could definitely benefit the replace the aged exhaust pipe. The black leather interior appears to be original and shows a fair bit of patina. The dash is original and in good condition and the wood veneer has a some cracking. The dash features original radio as well as gauges. The seats are in fair shape and have some visible wear. The larger 3.0L I6 engine takes a bit of coaxing to warm up but is a very solid runner. The 4-speed manual is easy to operate and shifts crisply. The car is equipped with overdrive, and had a complete electric overhaul in 2013. Overall, this car is an excellent driver, with good steering and strong brakes. It has no issue going down the road and even sounds great doing it. This is a classic driver you won't feel bad taking out for a spin every day. The current owner has loved this car since 1999 and taken great care of it since.
